CJ has a basic fighting skill and three other fighting techniques that he learns in each gym, Niko has some other different moves when you combine dodging (space) + moving back, forward, left and right + left mouse for attack :-) Edit: Niko can also disarm someone that has a knife or a baseball bat and than counter attack them by first dodging and than attacking

@Cyx Player Niko served as a soldier an tank driver and a helicopter driver and he is a war vetran Niko has too many martial art techniques like krav maga , muay thai ,Sombra,systema and gecko-Roman and advanced street fighting,boxing and knife combat and much more martial art techniques and Niko can literally break anyone's arm with his bare hands as we seen in game and Niko can reverse gun attacks which we have also seen in the game so in a sense Niko can beat any gta character

Who else thinks vice city stories had by far the best fighting mechanics. There are like a dozen different moves to do to people while locked on to a target. You can snap necks, choke slam, sucker punch and so much more, although I do believe SA fights were easiest to win and a lot more comedic.

Look guys im here to explain a little thing Niko is a trained army man with 8 martial art tricks Jonny is a biker and rockstar got lazy so they just got the same animation for him Luis is a cage fighter i hope that explains how Niko and Johny and Luis has the same fighting style

GTA VCS GTA IV GTA SA GTA Chinatown wars GTA LCS Vice city and 3 equal. GTA V (fighting was ok but really lacked opportunity) GTA Advanced as the worst.

In Gta IV is most realistic fighting in Grand Theft Auto series. (The Gta IV is best.) But Gta 1, Gta 2 and Gta china town wars have got worst fighting!!! 💪🏼

You only use fighting in the old GTA games for persuasion and stuff. It's not really meant to kill anyone...because it doesn't. Well, I suppose you can punch people off ledges.

In VC, you can hold the punch when running and also, tommy can make a roundhouse and actually able to hit enemies in all four directions.

You should have shown a detailed breakdown of fighting mechanics for each gta games. For instance, showing all 4 fighting styles in GTA SA: Brawling, Boxing, Kung Fu, and Kick boxing; and all fighting possibilities in GTA VCS like grabs, throws, knees, mount punches, neck snap, etc; GTA IV disarm mechanism.

Bro, once again you forgot to mention some moves in Gta VC(back kick and head butt), SA(boxer combo and kung fu), VCS(grab punch), CTW(kick), otherwise it is a nice summary of this video

One of the main things GTA2 did wrong was the fact that peds didnt fight back when smacked around or even tossed out arguments during the fight, like in GTA1 - they just ran away! That was the biggest gripe I had with that game, I could spend a while just fighting peds in GTA1 for the fun of it.

Claude and Tommy has basic street fighting skills no defense, CJ has the best technique MMA offense skills but no defense, Niko has basic martial arts skills and can counter punch/kick and melee grab, and Trevor can one punch KO anyone to Heaven or Hell

They are 2D.

They are viewed from above, bird's eye view. The geometry of the levels are 3D such as the buildings and platforms. And your character moves in all directions, able to move up and down, left and right, diagonal and towards and away from the camera. It is very much 3D but uses a lot of sprites for people and vehicles.
