This. For a while it seemed like the announcer was the true villain of each installment (MK4 being secretly Quan Chi I guess) and I think by Deception through MK VS DC, the voice (usually) just sounded like cliche villain guy. Shame. Nice that the Kronika MK11 (and MK9 too) announcer went back to that idea.

Mk3 is best cuz classic and Shao Kahn’s deep echo-y laughtrack adds to the atmosphere. 😂 Mk11 is great with the different voices. Kronika sounds so cold and merciless, totally sends vibes of godlike indifference.

It took me 4 hours to download the MK mobile game so I could get the Kronika announcer pack. Totally worth it, in my humble opinion.

@@GamelutioN1 Johnny Cage was my bane for the brief while it was out. Took several hours a day of solid tower grinding to get the standing necessary to unlock it (that 15% point loss upon using AI kharacters starts to hurt when you're trying to get/maintain a high ranking). ...only for me to go _back_ to Kronika since I thought Cage was a little _too_ goofy for the overall tone of the game. So... win some, lose some.

It sounds like they had used pretty much the same voice lines from MK1 to MK3, just with different compression. And then the same voice lines from MK4 to MK:A. MK9 to MK11 sounds like the same voice actor, but recording the lines anew for every game.
