Enjoy my video about the Evolution of Invincible Kirby in Kirby Games, Spin-offs and other Appearances.
Invincible Candy (also called Invincibility Candy or most often just Candy, Lollipop in Super Smash Bros. 4) is a recurring item in the Kirby series. When collected, Kirby becomes invincible for a short time, and almost any enemy he touches will be instantly defeated, or some at least damaged. However, it will not render Kirby impervious to falls or certain hazards that cause instant KOs.
There are also other items that make Kirby invincible like the Power Star from Super Smash Bros., Metal Copy Ability from Kirby: Squeak Squad, Jumbo Candy from Kirby Mass Attack, Invisibility Stone from Kirby's Return to Dream Land and the Metal Boost Orb from Kirby Battle Royale. The Invincible Candy also appears in Kirby's Pinball Land and Kirby's Block Ball, but it doesn't give invincibility.
The Stone Copy Ability also gives invincibility when Kirby transforms into a stone, but due to the many appearances, this is excluded here and will be covered in a seperate Evolution of Stone Kirby video.

Random observations: I never understood why Nightmare in Dream Land removed the whole "Meta Knight gives you the invincibility power-up" thing from Adventure. It added to his mystique and made you wonder what his real motives were, which is fitting for the character, especially in his debut. Just a weird decision to actively remove something cool from the original (and unlike the rotating Butter Building effects, doesn't seem to be forced by any kind of obvious limitations). If a musical fanfare can sound like it's trying to catch its breath, that's the Dream Land 3 invincibility music. I don't know why they completely changed it for Kirby 64 only, but that version's a banger!

In the Japanese sub of the anime most of the later episodes mainly the one where bun and kirby are looking for the scarfys a slower more playful extended version is used

The mass attack giant invincibility is terrifying. Imagine being sephiroth destroying the world after believing he cut kirby in half only for him and his 10 cut up copies to grab this big ass lollipop and clobber his ass to death. Sephiroth becomes a memory under those big red feet.

4:58 the metal ability is not entirely efficient since if you decide to use it against a boss as a meta knight he will be able to attack and inflict damage on kirby even with metal

Games on the same system or from the same era usually have extremely similar invincibility themes (with exceptions like Smash Bros, Kirby 64, or the Kirby Fighters games.) An example would be Planet Robobot and Triple Deluxe.

Calling it a clone might a a little bit reductive, while it is indeed fairly inspired by 3D World & Odyssey it is still very much its own game Thats like calling all N-64 era 3D platformers a mario 64 Clone

It's actually a linear 3D platformer similar to SM3DW, but with overly-detailed graphics and cinematic camera angles. It's not open-world in the slightest.

It was essentially a worse version of Stone because it hindered Kirby's mobility and as mentioned, you could still take contact damage from minibosses/bosses which made it useless against them as you effectively had no ways of causing damage without injuring yourself in the process due to it lacking true invincibility on any of its moves..
