Though people are very judgmental of movies, I’d give this Deathnote movie a 9.0 rating it was really good though, jus because the characters didn’t look like the ones in the series or the plot was completely different from the old anime doesn’t mean it’s a complete horrible movie, things just has to change. It’s something entertaining I have watched about 3 times already. There’s worse netflix originals than this one and deathnote is not on the list.

Try to watch the 2006 live action. This was probably the most beautiful ending. L's here is smarter than the original one and the actor did a great job portraying L he looks like L stepped out of the anime and became a real person.

kento yamazaki didn't write L's character in the drama lol. Both are amazing. 2015 drama L is a great character, it's just not the normal L because they put a spin on his character, it was actually well done, unique and refreshing.

The 2015 version didn't capture L's personality that well I'm saying this because I'm honest. I actually watched that drama and came there for Kento (the guy who plays L) and I knew some of the other actors as well such as the guy who plays Light. But it felt like L was emotionless but in my opinion still I prefer the 2015 version but still could be debated with the 2006

I agree that the 2015 L isn’t fully L’s character, and in general is pretty out of character in fact But I actually kinda like that about the series? Sure it’s not the L we’re used to, but it’s a really good reimagining of his character that’s new and interesting whilst still getting the point of his character across It’s a *much* better reimagining than whatever Netflix tried to do at least lol (and I’m not talking about them making L black-)

I remember back in 9th grade, everyone was so hyped for the netflix adaptation of death note. I haven't seen the movie yet but I just know it was pretty bad from the looks of it, so I never bothered watching

Kento's L is by far the best looking one but I don't think it was the most accurate. His L wasn't that cold because he was a lot more expressive. 2006 is the best one imo.

The 2015 version is my favorite iteration of the story. Its the only one where I found myself sympathizing with both Light and L. In all other versions I can’t relate at all to Light and it makes it harder for me to care about everything that happens to either of them.

As someone who grew up with Death Note since 2006, I disagree. Besides the one in the manga and anime, I prefer Kenichi Matsuyama's L. The 2015 version of L didn't really portray his personality and mannerism, looked too different from the L I know.

In my honest opinion, only kenichi suit and nail L character. And i was hoping the ending in anime will be the same as movie live action,it would be perfect. L finish his case on his own. The anime is very good until L die and N continue the case. The excitement drop on that part. I watch movie live action first,then i watch the anime one back then.. And kenichi is the only person that suit L the most. Character and figure😊

@Sajedul Haque Ruhan He isn't the hero, though. He's the villain. I guess it more relies on your definition of "hero". But, Light is no good guy. So, if by "hero", you mean someone who's given a power, then yes, I suppose so. But, we rarely use that definition. The title of "hero" is usually given to the person in a story that does a/many good deed(s). What is/isn't a good deed is up to you, but generally speaking, wanting to take over the world and killing innocent people to do so isn't generally considered good. Then there's committing mass genocide, using people selfishly, teaming up with a god of death (which isn't necessarily bad, but there was no hesitation), and contemplating killing his family if they got in the way... yeah. So, no, I don't see light as any kind of "hero". He's the villain of the story. I'm willing to say he's a tragic villain. If he didn't find that book then none of this probably would have happened.

@Sajedul Haque Ruhan So does the Empire in Star Wars. Crime rates plummet once the Empire shows up. Ruling through fear and death doesn't make you a hero. And, antiheros are still classified as heroes. They're heroes that do unheroic things for good reasons. Which isn't Light. He does bad things for selfish reasons.

"or you are against Kira" is a VERY bad thing. He's killed innocent people for this very reason. Hell, he's undoubtedly killed innocent people by killing prisoners. Not everyone in jail deserves an execution. Do you believe so? And who is Light to determine what is right and what is wrong? He believes himself to be a god. But, he is merely human. He's just a kid with a gun that can kill anyone, anywhere. We have laws, no need for Light. Light is selfish. he'll literally kill anyone for his own reasons. He's killing people based on his own perceptions. He's killing because he's bored, and wants to become a god. He's selfish. Maybe you need to rewatch the show if you don't know the motivations of the main protagonist. And, what do you mean "he never wanted Light Yagami to be famous. And Kira to become god means everyone will accept Kira's Justice"? He's literally Kira, and stated that he wants to become god of the new world. He wants to rule over everyone through his sick interpretation of justice. He (Light Yagami) wants Kira (still Light Yagami) to be the entity above all others. He wants to be a god.
