Every character changed in Strive. It was made mostly to adapt characters for West public. Like for example, Ky and Sin stop wearing their super anime royal suits and walk in a regular shirt and t-shirt, leaving their jackets on a shoulders or on a waist. Millia wear a fancy winter coat and a papakha (Now finally she proves her Russian origin) May change her pirate outfit to more regular hoodie

gg designs remained mostly unchanged(barring millia and potemkin from acpr to xrd) because while the guilty gear games have many versions, the ones that i'd classify as actually seperate mainline games are missing link, x, xx(and all of its speudo sequels/updates), xrd(and its different versions) and strive. The character design changes from missing link into x were minimal and xrd mostly just tried to recreate the sprites as convincingly as possible using 3d models. Strive was the first GG game with actual redesigned looks to fit the new 3d artstyle they were going for.

GG is a franchise of repetitive release style like SF... actually it's worse than SF in that aspect. And it only started changing that style after turning to 3d. Kinda like SF also only stopped being repetitive recently.
