History of the Brussels Metro and Premetro, from the opening of the first premetro line in 1969, to the opening of the second phase of the future Line 3 in 2029, operated by the Société des Transports Intercommunaux de Bruxelles/Maatschappij voor het Intercommunaal Vervoer te Brussel (Brussels Public Transport Company).
Note on station names: Where separate Flemish and French names exist, I have chosen the name that I deem to be more accessible to English-language viewers. Where they are close, I have tried to use both in the text, separated by a "/".

Don't forget that conversion of Meiser as an underground pre-Metro station has been validated the line shall be entirely underground from Diamant to Meiser

Before 2029 there will definitely be a full-fledge subway station at Meiser

Nu nog de nieuwe metro lijn doortrekken tot in de nationale luchthaven.

er is al een trein op het luchthaven en in 2023 koomt er een tram(62)van Nord Station naar de luchthaven. Volgens de plannen wordt Metro 3 in het kader van dit project niet doorgetrokken naar de luchthaven, maar was technisch mogelijk om deze door te trekken. Dat vliegveld in Vlaanderen mogen we niet vergeten. Vlaanderen zal een verlenging (bouwvergunning etc.) moeten accepteren. Metro 3 in Bordet staat ter discussie omdat de prijs fors gestegen is (van 1 miljard naar nu 2,5 miljard)
