Dick Warlock's head shape made it look far more like William Shatner, which may be what caused Shatner's people to realize it was a Captain Kirk mask.

I have to disagree about the cigarette smoke not helping to yellow the mask. I had to help a friend once gut his grandmother's home unfortunately. She was a very heavy smoker which is obviously gross, but I'll never forget pulling a bed and box spring out of a spare bedroom and seeing all the yellow hued clothes, papers, and even an older PC just caked with tar from the cigarette smoke. He sprayed the computer with windex to clean it and brown drips of tar just poured all over and you could smell the horrible smell of just old stale smoke, it was disgusting! While I agree smoke does obviously rise, it does and will accumulate on anything and everything in a home that's not been well aired out and from constant smoking. The hideousness of that home will haunt me forever.

Stuntman Jim Winburn wore the mask in '78 too, so that's five :-)

Wish they would've made the mask look more like your aged mask in h18. They went a bit overboard with the creases and wrinkles. Everyone says its the same as the 78 mask but I don't see it. The overall head shape and eye placement and size is different. Real life aged latex would look more like yours.

Lol my grandparents were heavy smokers. Over time the nicotine stains were everywhere. At first it was on the ceiling and upper walls, but it eventually covered everything

**Off topic**: The mask from the '18 film is just ridiculous! We all know what the original '78 mask looks like (as seen in this video). Latex cracks and brakes over time and also gets a yellowish color (sometimes due to sun exposure). But it doesn't get wrinkles like an 85 yo person. This is in my opinion a huge fail! Anyway, love your videos, you are a true master Nick!

You haven’t done interior painting in a house of a smoker clearly. The smoke gets on EVERYTHING floor to ceiling. Nothing is safe from nasty cigarette smoke. Know what your talking about.

IMO, the rotting in the 2018 mask is realistic in the story of the movie. Michael did not keep the mask for 40 years and the mask wasn’t just being thrown around from person to person. It was kept in I believe a museum, therefore the mask would not be as rotten as it is in real life.
