It is incredible that in this was in the 2017, this guy made an extremely informative video and got almost no views, chris bartocci makes a list of features and people are "OH MY GOD GREAT TECHNICAL REVIEW"... it is a shames. Great video, I would like to add if you have not figured it out that the movement of the pin that retains the extractor is to increase the leverage, basically torque=distance*force. It helps to get a better bite on the case.
@ChucksSEADnDEAD4 жыл бұрын
Moving the extractor pin forward gives leverage advantage to the springs versus the cartridge rim. The dual springs also allow for longer springs to be used because the original centered spring can't interfere with the firing pin channel. The area around the pivot pin also seems strengthened to prevent the extractor from breaking there. Now this is the first time I've noticed, but the ejector pin seems to not "dig" into the web area as much as in the milspec, furtger strengthening it.

Awesome video. Great description of the bolt, etc. Being from Florida, I really love my KAC's. Built in Florida. Built to last. Built to be shot and keep shooting. Lowest felt recoil on any of my rifles by a mile. The 14.5 MOD 2 is very special to me. I ran it for an entire 3 gun season and trained with it for a whole year straight with no issues. Just upgraded it with some Arisaka goodies last month and I cannot wait to shoot it again this weekend. FYI, as I understand it, all MLOK MOD 2's came with MOE, all Keymod MOD 2s came with the LMT stock. If someone got an LMT on a MLOK rifle from the factory they are lucky!!!

Nice rundown bud! It's hard to cover all the different models (CQB, LPR, Carbine etc) but this does a great general introduction to the different generations of SR15s.

Ray Dionisio I'd consider doing those if I had them all! I would need your collection!!

the E3 ejector pin was moved forward to provide more leverage on the chambered round, is what I was told.

Awesome vid. Makes me miss my legacy. Would be cool if on the Mod 3, they added bolt hold capabilities for the right side bolt release.

echang86 I think that's exactly what we'll see.

Have a Mod 1, love it! About 300 rounds through it! Bought an extra e3 bolt and rebuild kit for it! Hope it lasts...

Nice rundown of the KAC SR-15 "generations". They're such wonderful rifles, and there is just something about that Mod1 (URX 3.1) rail. I almost regret getting a Mod2.... ALMOST! Either way, great job of describing all the differences It's hard to make someone who hasn't shot one just how special these SR-15's are. In closing, "Nutnfancy" is a freakin blowhard.
@gunpornmedia28817 жыл бұрын
sgav8r yeah he really missed a lot. With these rifles it's the little things that make it special.

@gunpornmedia28816 жыл бұрын
D Meiman I think his review sucked in the quality was not good. His information was in accurate and he could’ve done a much better job.

How do they hold up shooting steel case?
@gunpornmedia28816 жыл бұрын
Marco G in the past they have works perfectly fine for me. Now I pretty much just shoot brass so I'm speaking from my experience years ago.
@Richardjohnson69694 жыл бұрын
Marco G you shouldn’t really disrespect a KAC by using steel case ammo. If you can afford KAC you can afford brass. Thanks

So is LMT Enhanced Bolt based off the KAC or the other way around?
@gunpornmedia28816 жыл бұрын
tengu190 So They are actually not related and not interchangeable in any way at all. All the improvement on the SR 15 bolt is just the bolt. LMT enhances the carrier and I’m not exactly sure what they do to their bolt. They may have dual spring extractors but I’m not sure I’ve never owned one.
@tengu1906 жыл бұрын
Steel, chemical treat, dual extractor, different shaped lugs, I think one piece gas ring also. LMT lowers are also similar but makes sense since they made lowers for KAC.
@DBravo29er Жыл бұрын
LMT bolt is made from A100 Aermet steel. Crazy expensive and difficult to machine. But several hundred percent stronger than even the best C158. KAC doesn't kiss and tell, but high grade C158 would be an absolute minimum for their bolt material. But, TBH, I wouldn't rule out A100 in the KAC bolt. We will likely never know for certain.
@tengu190 Жыл бұрын
@@DBravo29er Wouldn't be surprised if they are made by LMT. LMT does some machining work for KAC. My company makes the receiver set forgings for both companies.
@DBravo29er Жыл бұрын
@@tengu190 I own 3 LMT Enhanced BCGs (5.56) and one full KAC URX4 mid2 upper (e3 bolt). They are both finished to a very high level. I could easily see it. Huge fan of both companies.

The most over hyped AR in the industry!
@gunpornmedia28815 жыл бұрын
Tyrantresister said like a true peasant with no understanding of what you actually get with an sr15. Ignorance is bliss.
@Tyrantresister5 жыл бұрын
I understand it. I just don't desire, nor need it. A good basic classic AR configuration is the best for hard use and offers the same or better performance.
@fmxmyway7 жыл бұрын
Dude, your chugging the nights armament koolaide hard as if its the gospel. Theres other guns out there that are far superior to those man. Its like geeking out on a noveske AR, theres a lot more other ARs out there that are actually worth the money they are charging. Paying primo dollars for an AR thats main sales point is its history and military cult following doesn't justify the ridiculous price.
@gunpornmedia28817 жыл бұрын
Simple math/experience will prove that the price in most cases is inline with other quality brands.
@texlee16406 жыл бұрын
fmxmyway, that is the silliest and most baseless comment ever for your argument. KAC were and still are innovators in the market, their guns aren't flashy, they are factory guns built to be run hard for a long time with little to no maintenance or failures. If you are going to drop nonsense like this then at least backup your comment with evidence and examples. And don't come in here with some frankengun example.
@fmxmyway6 жыл бұрын
$2,300 for a DI AR? For that price it better have a piston in it. Ill give you it to you for their KAC 600M flip up sights but other than that ill very happily pass them up for a BCM or Daniel Defense.
@texlee16406 жыл бұрын
A piston AR, you mean the fad of the late 2000's? Even LWRCi realized that market is dead and started making DI guns and they were top dog in that niche. Piston AR's are on average 3/4 to 1lb heavier than their DI competition and that weight is towards the muzzle which is the worst spot to add weight in the system. BCM and DD make great AR's, but they aren't in the same class with a KAC SR-15. If you wanna keep your budget to under $1500 then I'd buy either of those all day. Check out Ballistic Radios torture test of the SR-15, over 20K rounds with no cleaning or replacement of parts and zero failures, I have yet to see that with any other DI AR. The SR-15 is a top dog in the DI AR world and they are worth the street prices they sell at. And yes, they make the best iron sights as well.
@RaZeRbLaDeZ6 жыл бұрын
fmxmyway Okay, but if we prefer Knights why would we give a shit about buying the other ones?
