unfortunately we waited almost a decade for the next change (2015 was last change) but in 2024 new things will happen, line 3 will connect with line 12 in january, lines 11 and 5 will reach the airport, new infill station in line 9 and most recently proposed line 8 will reach entrevías (Vallecas) all between 2024 and 2028

@ Problem is that she rushed the opening of metro lines just before the elections, and that had an impact in construction quality. Some of the lines opened in 2007 would need to be closed in sections in the years to come in an attempt to fix all the problems. And some sections still need to be closed nowadays for structural repairs, more than 10 years after they opened.

Gran trabajo.

To unite those smaller cities that are in the south of Madrid between them and with the center of Madrid. It's not a very crowded line but it isn't the least used either. And as population is growing, it will be more useful as time passes.

I'm from Madrid. The area covered by Line 12 are the five largest municipalities in the southern metropolitan area of Madrid, on the outskirts of the city and it was designed to make easier the transportation between people who had to work in downtown

Pretty interesting to see the R route has never been integrated into other lines through its long history. Why is it so?
@pencadoremio
@pencadoremio Жыл бұрын
Don't know if it's be possible or if it would make much sense. However, maybe some context serves as somewhat of an answer. The R line gives direct access to lines 2 and 5 in Ópera, and lines 6 and 10 in Príncipe Pío (the "line" just goes back and forth between Ópera and Príncipe Pío -- which is like 2-minute ride). You actually need to exit the train cart if you want to go to lines 2/5 or 6/10 -- they're not really "connected".
