Dr Maansi Joshi is a dual qualified haematologist and haematopathologist, specializing in malignant haematology. She completed internal medicine training at Westmead Hospital in Sydney and haematology training at the Canberra Hospital, Westmead and Nepean Hospitals. Dr Joshi has attained fellowships with the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) and Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA). Following this, she undertook a fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA where she worked as a clinician researcher. Her research focused on cancer genomics and novel therapies. Additionally, she was actively involved in early and late phase clinical trials.
Dr Joshi discusses how treatment has evolved in this disease, with a broad overview of newer agents available for treatment and improvement in survival. Dr Joshi also touched on novel treatments strategies such as T cell therapies, that are moving this field forward.
Dr Joshi has an interest in plasma cell disorders. She is a member of the Australian Leukemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG), American Society of Haematology (ASH) and Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand (HSANZ); and a member of the myeloma working party of the ALLG.
