TVXQ is a HUGE group in Asia esp in JAPAN they are called godfathers of Kpop They are often referred to as "Asia's Stars" and the "Kings of K-pop" too for their immense success and contributions to the Hallyu Their name means "rising gods of the east" Lee Soo Man gave them this name in fact they didn't like it at first😂 They are Japan's best-selling foreign music act in CD singles of all time Billboard has described the group as "K-pop royalty". They had ones of the biggest tours in Japan (most attented concerts) Those are just few facts from their successful career I mean they're really AMAZING nowadays lots of new kpop fans don't know about legendary groups like them so I'm glad you are discovering lots of groups of kpop from different generations

First viewer. The reason why on "Keep Your Head Down" and later, was because the other 3 members from the first 2 videos have left SM entertainment (their label) in 2008-2009, after "Mirotic" due to a legal dispute, so they opted not to renew their contracts, so the other 3 members left the company to form their own group known as JYJ under the label CJES Entertainment.

I'm not going to explain the group situation again, someone in the coments did it, so i just want to say the guy from the high notes are the maknae (youngest member) his name is Changmin (very close friend from super junior kyuhyun (kyuhyun is the maknae of super junior with pin hair nin super clap and i think)) and hes, is the lead singer, besides that the other member is yunho the leader of the group, initially he was the lead rapper but he trained a lot to improve his sing voice this is why you got confused xD

Adding to my other comment. Just letting you know the members. They also have like their "nicknames" in front of their actual names. - U-Know Yunho (the one who was more of a rapper in the current duo, but also vocals and primarily main dancer when it was the original 5) -Max Changmin (the one who has been hitting those high notes, and one of the main vocals in the original 5) (Former 3 members) -Xiah (pronounced "She Ya") Junsu (main vocalist, also check out his solo work) -Micky YooChun (rapper) -Hero JaeJoong (Vocals) Those 3 members formed JYJ under Cjes Entertainment, not sure if they are disbanded now....) But on another note, you should really check out TVXQ's song "O", it came out in around 2006, so it will be when it was all 5 members.

Don’t forget Jaejoong has solos too (Mine is wonderful)!! They haven’t disbanded, but Yoochun became an ex-member because of all the legal turmoil he’s has since 2017

Okay, lead vocal was Jaejoong and Junsu is the 2nd. Yes, Junsu has one of the most powerful (if not most) vocals in entire K-pop industry but in the band lead vocalist was Jaejoong.
@milindawilson91754 жыл бұрын
And that is why their name is Rising Gods of the East. I think "Keep Your Head Down" is one of their songs that fits their name well. This song was designed to show just how powerful they were. It was meant to prove to everyone that even as a duo they would continue to be the Gods that their name represented. Ever since debut SM wanted TVXQ to have God-like status and Changmin and U-Know personify that with songs like this one. "Keep Your Head Down" was their first comeback after splitting from JYJ and it was the performance that solidified them as two of the top artists in the industry This song showed everyone just how capable they were as artists, and proved that they could continue as just the two of them and never miss a beat.They are one of the most powerful and well respected duos, and with more than 16 years in the industry, there is no doubt they have legendary status -- and they are still blowing people away with their talent.
@lunagrace28724 жыл бұрын
I’m so glad that you like them. You should watch “Spellbound” a jazzy ballad. “The Chance of Love” a Spanish inspired song (hard to explain that song) and “Love Line” a relaxing summer song (can really hear their voices). All the song are more newer and all with the the duo.

I am really grateful for this video reaction to the trajectory of TVXQ, I am a fan since 2009 and there is no day when I do not admire them anymore. they debuted in 2003 with "Hug" and their talent opened a path for them in the Japanese music market in 2005 starting from scratch leading them to what they are today. They debuted with 5 members: Yunho, Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu and Changmin; However, in 2009 due to unfair issues in contract 3 of its members (Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu) they left the group and TVXQ resumed activities in 2011 with the album "Keep your head down" with only Yunho and Changmin. The other 3 members (Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu) continued their journey as singers in another company (CjeS Ent) with the name of JYJ. They have not had an easy path, because since they left the SM Ent they have been blocked from any Korean program and its television stations, but that has not stopped them to achieve great triumphs in other areas such as musicals, dramas; as well as in his projects as soloists. I really enjoyed this reaction, and I would be more than happy if you now reacted to JYJ's trajectory.

Yes, TVXQ truly are all-time legends in the music industry. As an SM Entertainment group, it is no surprise that TVXQ are outstanding vocalists. Being some of the best dancers and vocalists in the industry is what we have come to expect from all of SM's artists and groups. That's just a fact about the type of people SM selects to be a part of its company. Here is some background to help you understand the dynamics of TVXQ better. TVXQ (English and Chinese)/DBSK (Korean)/ Tohoshinki (Japanese), which each are the abbreviations/acronyms of the words in each language that translates to mean "Rising Gods of the East," debuted in 2003 as a 5 member group. But, in 2010 three of their members left SM Entertainment and the group and formed a new group called JYJ -- the initials of the members: Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong. (JYJ is still a group and they still produce music, but because they left SM Entertainment -- one of the most powerful and influential company in the industry -- they were pretty much blacklisted in the music industry which made it more difficult for them to promote themselves and their music. So the members of JYJ are more known as actors and producers than they are as singers now.) However, Max/Changmin and U-Know/Yunho continued as TVXQ as a duo. This year is TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki's 16th anniversary and even now as a duo they are so talented that they have the vocal range to cover all the parts of a song between the two of them, including rap. TVXQ has been a duo now longer than they ever where a 5 member group. Changmin (the youngest member) was 15 and U-Know was 17 years old.when they debuted with TVXQ so even though they are one of the senior Kpop groups Changmin is only 31 and U-know is 33. TVXQ is SM's most senior group, but U-Know and Changmin are still younger than, or the same age as, many of the members of the legendary groups who came after them within their generation. They are best friends with Super Junior and petty much grew up together. Changmin is known for his powerful high notes (even more powerful than Chen and Baekhyun from EXO), he literally has one of the widest note ranges of almost any Kpop artist. In a high note battle he always wins. U-Know is known for his dancing and his passion for dancing and singing. He is also the rapper of the group. (U-Know truly loves what he does and doesn't hide it. He will tell you he is proud of his accomplishments and he is proud of his work. His passion is kind of a running joke within the industry. Its one of the things he is most known for.) Like U-Know has said before, he and Changmin have lived together for so long that they know each other like an old married couple. They have lived together for almost 15 years. It wasn't until just recently that they decided to get their own places and now they live alone. The funny thing is personality-wise, Changmin and U-Know are complete opposites in almost every way. Changmin is quiet, calm and level headed and prefers to be alone; and U-Know is loud, high energy, intense and prefers to be with a group of people. Tohoshinki (TVXQ) are one of the most famous singers in Japan even among Japanese artists. And like SHINee, they are so popular in Japan that they are considered part of the mainstream music scene. As you might notice by the comments you get on this reaction, TVXQ has one of the biggest worldwide fan bases and they sell out some of the largest concert venues in the world. They are SM Entertainment's top selling group easily selling out concert tours around the world. One of their recent Japanese concert tours included 3 days at Nissan Stadium, and they sold out 230,000 tickets and earned $250 million in those 3 days alone.

"Mirotic is a made up word that really has no meaning but it is derived from a play on the word mirror + otic -- the title was originally supposed to be something like mirror but they thought the word sounded better if you added otic to the end of it (it made it sound cooler, or something.) Think of it as the words mirror and exotic combined -- that's just how you pronounce the title, not the meaning of the word. "Mirotic," which came out in 2008 when they were still a 5 member group, is a classic in the Kpop world and every new rookie group -- both boy groups and girl groups -- learn this song and choreography and almost every rookie has performed it on music programs, award shows, at showcases, etc. at least once in their career. This song, like SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong," Girls Generation's "Gee" and Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry," etc. is pretty much compulsory for everyone in the entertainment industry to know and learn the song and dance to, no matter how young or old they are. In the MV for "Mirotic" the woman is supposed to be a siren, like from Greek mythology, and she is supposed to be tempting and trapping or luring the TVXQ members to her. Like they say in the song "... I got you under my skin ..." But in the end you see how the members have broke free from her control. (Often in Greek mythology the siren, through her intoxicating love powers, lures guys to their deaths.) Also, you should know, that the "red ocean" they are referring to in the song has a double meaning -- TVXQ's fandom is Cassiopeia and their fan color is red, so when you attend a TVXQ concert you will see an ocean of red. Welcome to the Cassiopeia fandom. If you like TVXQ then you are a Cassi.

"Something" was recorded as part of TVXQ's 10th anniversary celebration. So to commemorate their 10th anniversary, if you notice, there is a Roman numeral X (10) on the floor in the middle of the ballroom. As you noticed, there are girls in this MV. LOL. Its not very common to have females in Kpop boy group MVs, and that's one reason why Changmin used to say that filming for the "Something" MV was his favorite. Because after 10 years, this was the first time that they had ever used female backup dancers in one of their MVs. Changmin was 25 years old at the time and U-Know was 27. And as you saw in the MV, you can see why he had such a good time. LOL ;) However since then, you will see they often use female dancers now. You should really see a live comeback stage for "Something." The choreo they perform live with this song has them using that double ended mic that is attached in the middle by a rope. They each hold an end of the rope and they have to dance without getting tangled up in it. Its super impressive and shows exactly why they are considered one of the best performing duos in the industry.

tvxq has three different names, but all are the same group. The other names are DBSK which is the Korean version, Tohoshinki is the Japanese name and TVXQ is the Chinese/international name. They all mean the same thing though, Rising Gods of the East. Originally five members, but in 2009 three of the members left and filed a law suit against SM for basically being in a slave contract. Way too much to get into right now. But anyway, the three members Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu formed their own group, JYJ. Which has also been fairly successful. Jaejoong was the singer you liked in the first video. Yunho and Changmin stayed with SM and kept TVXQ going. My favourite mv from when they were 5 is Wrong Number. I also recommend checking out some of the live performances from back then, such as Bolero. They are incredible live. And they have solo stuff that is also really good. And of course check out JYJ as well, lives and music videos.

It's easy: i see someone reacting to TVXQ i subscribe. For me, as a huge fan of TVXQ it's like christmas watching you react to some of their biggest hits in one video. They're not the top k-pop band nowadays if we only take the views as a reference, but for example, there is no other k-pop band capable to fill stadiums in Japan like they do. If you don't know, Japan is like the US of Asia. In one single tour in Japan (three months or something) they can make 1 million fans to attend. 1 million people in one country in two or three months. They're so big in Japan that also have the record as the only foreigner artist performing in Nissan Stadium. Nissan Stadium is the biggest place in Japan with a capacity of 85,000. Not even The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, or any other international artist have ever performed in Nissan Stadium. I know, too much info, but what can i say? I'm a HUGE fan of TVXQ. Hahaha.

Actually TVXQ debuted on 2003 (as a special guest on BoA stage with Britney Spears), while SuJu debuted on 2004, they shared stage with TVXQ. It's an SM thing. TVXQ was a vocal group, like EXO now, they are the best group when it comes to acapella back then. The group have 3 different names, DBSK (Dong Bang Shin Ki, which means Gods raised from the East) as their Korean name, Tong (V)fang Xin Qie (in Chinese with same meaning, the ac. TVXQ came from this for Asian generalized name, that's why you saw their group name written in Chinese), and Tohoshinki (in Japanese). Fandom has two different group, Cassiopeia for the whole fandom in Asia, and Big East for Japanese only. Honestly, i like these evolution series, but can you make it more with/according to their released order. Like please, Hug was their first MV... Mirotic was their last album as OT5, then it's Keep Your Head Down (OT2) where 'TVXQ music' type changed significantly. You skipped 4-5 years of their evolution. 😀

You should check out more of their more recent songs, such as their song "Chance of Love" or "Love Line." TVXQ's "The Chance of Love" and Super Junior's "Black Suit" both came out around the same time, within a couple of months of each other, so that might be why, if you listen to "The Chance of Love" you might hear similarities to SJ's "Black Suit." After all they are both second generation groups under SM Entertainment who trained together and grew up together, so they have the same classy, mature vibe to their songs. You love SJ so I knew you would love TVXQ as well. :D Welcome to the fandom, I think you have become a Cassie now. LOL Sorry for so many comments. LOL :D I'm a multi-SM fan -- I'm a Cassie, an E.L.F., a S💗NE (Girl's Generation fan), a Shawol, a MeU (F(x) fan) and an EXO-L -- and I love helping people get to know these groups and Kpop better.

please give your reaction to the song f(x), we have just mourned the loss of one of its former personnel, sulli. The f(x) song is very energetic and different from other SM girl group songs, they are very talented and beautiful, give love to them and for Sulli, rest in peace 🙏🌹

it's a shame you missed a ballad one when they were still five 😂 there are a lot like REALLY A LOT! pls watch and react their ballad love performances such as bolero, begin, tonight, love in the ice, heart mind and soul or holding back the tears. tvxq really can hit all genres tho, they did a rock too back in 2005

Hey if u are really into ballads and really appreciate vocals, i think it really a must for you listen to Bolero and Love in the ice live performances. Those are Japanese songs from them but istg you would get goosebumps by hearing their vocals man.

You should watch TVXQ's video "Guilty" where guys also dance in water.

Guilty is from Avex, i barely see any reaction made for their japanese songs. Tohoshinki is exclusive for bigeast i guess.

Please react to Max's new song Chocolate. He is one of the duo from the member from TVXQ and this is his solo album.

You should look at the songs between start up until the group split in 2009. Would be interested in your opinion. I live in the UK but have been a major fan of the group since inception.

Great reaction vid but tbh was kinda disappointed that it skipped from hug straight to mirotic - 5 years of their massive amounts of discography got left out / didnt even get the highlights or "best of" hits & there were so many. Was looking forward to a more rounded selection, i guess. Also went from original 5 to homin only without jyj mixed in / weird transition if you're looking at an evolution of all 5 artists (& hug/mirotic set that precedent). Otherwise good though

if you want a taste of any of their ballads, 'love in the ice' and 'bolero' really showcase their amazing vocals!

SHINee's Taemin and Minho and Key have also performed Mirotic with Changmin. ETA: never question the stylist noona's choices, just...accept them.

You should also get to know their personalities cos it is pretty funny. I know less about JYJ, but Yunho and Changmin are very funny because Yunho is very very driven, hadrworking and passionate (almost too much... haha), while Changmin is completely chill in every way. They are total opposites, but also a perfect fit.

Sorry for Yet Another Comment, but autotune was all the rage in 2012, along with dubstep and that fashion style.
