Oasisaur taming is about the drag weight of the creature that you use for the soul. The level of the tame makes no difference either. Use a rex, it takes 2-3 waves to tame and a fabby sniper is the best weapon, as any damage you do to the oasisaur completely resets the taming progress. Get a decent quality fabby sniper and you pretty much one shot every vulture before it gets close to the oasisaur. Longneck reload is too slow and a flamethrower will just hit the oasisaur. Anyone that's recommended a flamethrower hasn't tamed an oasisaur.

Two Advice regarding your base and train station projects. For the base you MUST surround it with high walls, you live next to worm/alpha worm spawns, they will evantually find you and shit will go south real quick. As for the train/tracks ... Build in on two pillar high, dont place it directly on the ground because crap will respawn and block the train, so best solution is to build the tracks high in the air.

While ghillie and cactus broth arent necessary for mantis taming, anything that reduces aggro range helps. Also you can use bug repellent on your tames as well so they are less likely to pull aggro like your roo did

9:15 apparently the way is wyvern... there breath attaque apparently doesn't damaged anything but the vulture during the taming, meaning that you can just spam it... and whit how good those are it become very easy to tame.

The mantis is best at harvesting crystal. But they also harvest ore, metal, wood, fiber. Just place the tool on one hand on them, They can also use a sword to fight and are great. The mantis took the place of all the gathering dino's for me. Mine was bread until I have 30.000 weight and 15,000 melee.

@Evo There's some videos that prove it's the HP that determine taming speed of Oasisaur. 17-19k is the sweet spot. The high drag weight things have more hp, that's why people tend to say that. But it's actually health. Rex or Racer with 20k hp are guaranteed to only take 2 waves. In which case, you can use a dragon with a strong bite or anything that can one-shot vultures. You might hit the Oasisaur but it has 20k hp as well and it won't matter. People say flames (dragon or weapon) because fire doesn't hurt the Oasisaur and they are scared to hurt it because they don't understand how to make it only take 2 waves. I hope that helps. I've tamed two using a poison dragon (i killed my old one when i found one with better resources). By the way, you can only have one per clan.. so if any of you 4 tame one, ALL of you CANNOT tame another one.. so you guys might want to make it a group event.

Breeding a high level, high health creature to 'sacrifice' to an Oasisaur. The higher the health and level reduces the number of waves of vultures and speeds up the tame.

The drops on SE have seemed pretty bananas at times. I've seen 200+ Rex saddles, a 500% crossbow, and a 749 (!) longneck blueprint are all stuff I've picked up. Longneck was 11k metal though. I was grinding a long time for that, haha

If you've found a good club bp, mantis are really good at ko'ing things. Morellatops take reduced damage if you hit their humps. Zest for one of the anky names, Moss for the green roo. :) I'm looking forward to your build in the desert. It looks like a nice spot.

Oasissaur no guns needed no flamethrower needed either. get a Wyvern sit over top of the tame and munch those vultures. I just did it and I didn't fail it was so easy
