Hey everyone back again with more Trailmakers! Today we are back with another evolution challenge but this time we are competing in the airborne campaign map! In this challenge we are each going to evolve the best glider through 5 iterations and fly them off a runway through enemy territory!

I like the evolutions. Given the randomness of the enemies, I'm surprised that multiple attempts were not given. Had the players (kAN) other tries, the results would certainly have been different.

Having multiple attempts would eliminate the randomness a little bit, but would also massively increase the time it takes to record. Given that during any test, two people are spectating, I think the current format worked pretty well.

You should see who can build the best blimp and do who can go the farthest without being shot down by enemies.

Evolution/Devolution idea...take BOTH the best and the worst from that round, and you have to incorporate parts of each into your next design. They get to decide which part of their build has to be included. It would be both Evolution and Devolution a the same time.

Using raw jets, or the all the engines in general, as detachable weights might be a viable option, though I don't know, if You can use them, if they're hanging on a detach block. And overall air time would be interesting for the glider evos

Something I think you should do: Evolution survival - pick a dangerous area, and try to build something which can remain in the air there for as long as possible.

You guys should do an unlimited air/water/ground race. Not an evolution one, just whoever can make the fastest, most maneuverable, versatile vehicle. It would be nice to watch, but more than that you'd all have chaser vehicles like kAN's scooty puff jr in scrap mechanic so you can keep up and we can actually see the other vehicles in other videos. Alternatively, can you put a camera block on a vehicle with a detachable seat and keep the camera view after the seat is detached?

You guys really need a sort of high-controllability-in-speed pace plane (with an engine) to follow beside the candidate for filming. :)

just for fun why don't you try once to do evolution in reverse where the next interaction uses the 3rd position loser vehicle? It could be fun and more challenging to have to improve and also fix the loser design. It also means that in the first few rounds there will be a fight to who designs the worse starting vehicle to sabotage the others instead of the most efficient and flexible one. It still is a race so who cames first wins and you need to find the right balance between junkie and good design to win.

Please experiment with pistons, weights and logic blocks, move the center of gravity to make neat airplane with unique maneuvers

fun fact, uh... stacking wings actually DRASTICLY removes lift... also i think it was pretty unfair that the balloons tampered with your results. also added rng to really screw up the results even more..

The evolution series is one of my favs, the pirates ruined it for me as you could have the best creation and be shot down. i preferred it in scrap mechanic.

not sure if it works like rc planes , on rc planes with top mounted wings the balance point is 1/3 under the wing measured from front and nose need to dip 10´
