Ewhurst Green - Crimson Lake pre-grouping coaches (GWR & SR)

GWR and SR modellers have been spoilt with the Dapol ex.GWR Toplight coaches and EFE ex.LSWR Cross-Country sets, both of which eventually received British Railways' Crimson Lake livery.
Details of this livery can be found on my www.BloodandCustard.com website.
As a livery, Crimson Lake did not weather well with vehicles fading badly as can be seen from these superb models.
My understanding is these GWR Toplight vehicles dated from 1920-1921 - perhaps somebody can clarify?

The ex. LSWR Cross-Country 3 Lav sets were released end of 2022 followed by the SR /LSWR 4 Lav sets in 2023 (these four-coach sets lost their Thirds to 'Loose' or other sets c.1938).

Dave, the ex. LSWR Cross-Country 3 Lav sets were released end of 2022 followed by the SR /LSWR 4 Lav sets in 2023 (these four-coach sets lost their Thirds to 'Loose' or other sets c.1938). 👍 They are superb models - Colin. 🙂

Thank you Mike although the sounds are simply the all-metal wheel to rail interface. 👍 GWR rolling stock supplied by friend (Rod) who came to support the running session. 🙂

Wow - both types of coaches look to be really good! Forgive the question but why consecutive EFE set numbers 130 and 131?

Thank you and an interesting question that I did not expect to be asked! 👍 EFE's Crimson Lake 3 Lav set was numbered 130; except two of the coaches were incorrectly numbered as being from set 131. 😮 So the obvious answer was to renumber another three coaches thus creating both sets 130 & 131. 😉 A second Malachite Green '312' 3 Lav set was renumbered as 2 Lav ' set 312 with the ‘spare’ BTL renumbered as DS1905 (Redhill Breakdown Train). 🙂 Details can be found here: www.bloodandcustard.com/SR-CoachingSets-LSWR-CrossCountrySets130-324.html
