American music legend Dion DiMucci became famous at a young age from his time in Dion and the Belmonts, and then for his huge hits 'The Wanderer', 'Runaround Sue', 'A Teenager in Love', 'I Wonder Why', and more. Now a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, it wasn't always easy for Dion when he was growing up in the Bronx in New York. And, as EWTN's Colm Flynn found out, fame and fortune would take their toll on Dion when he turned to drugs to find happiness. With the help of his faith, Dion says he turned his life around.

One thing I like about Dion was his songs were dark for the time, but he made those darker moments a fun time and made you smile and dance.

The average person doesn't know what a ICON Dion is! He toured with Buddy Holly, Richie Valens Big Bopper and Waylon Jennings! He released a new album with other stars at 81 and it sounds fantastic!

Dion is truly one of the all time greats of the music world! He has been performing for EIGHT DECADES, which is probably something that is unique to him only. I love what he says in this interview, “a lot of people grow old but they don’t grow up, they remain 13 year olds emotionally”!

Dion is such a shining example of what happens when you put your faith in Our Lord. I love that he has turned his life around and has the one and only partner, his wife, who has stood by him for all these years. I loved him as a performer in my youth and I love him as an example of really good humanity for me to follow.

But did he know in the 1960s when he wrote Wanderer that 50 years later kids would blast away Super Mutants to that song?😂 Guy made the 50s and 60s cool again by still existing with us today❤

1972 he had a concert in Ft.Myers FL...b4 performance my hubby went backstage to get his autograph(not telling me)...gone about 30 mins...he told him about drugs & coming back

Wow thats amazing thats the way my life was with my italian dad in queens new York were i was born my father nad mother argued and fought alot to and when i was 15 my father and mother split and i started liking music singing and playing guitar similar to dions life except i was only a local singer in neighborhood clubs but having the same kind of life i met dion in sam ash music store years ago he was very nice je was in a hurry to get something in the audio department and when came out from there he saw me over by the guitars he said to me are you gonna buy that guitar i was looking at i said yes he replied very nice and left the store what im saying he could have just walked out of the but he didn't he waliked over to me and said bye than left thats a nice person and a celebrity also
