Pete Edochie is not a typical nollywood actor, he was a successful journalist and a broadcaster in his early career, acting on the side. He became a nollywood actor after his career in broadcasting. It seems Ghana and Nigeria were developing jointly and healthily. Then Ghanaians expelled Nigerians in 1969 and Nigeria retaliated in 1983. However, there was a bunch of Ghanaian teachers who lived in Nigeria between 1970 and 1983 who felt they were treated unfairly. This generation of teachers returned to Ghana and instilled some degree of Anti-Nigerianness in young Ghanaians. Personally, I grew up in that era in Ghana and all my teachers were Nigeria-deportees.
