What a great job you've done when your MP5 ended one of the toughest of all anti-terrorist operations in the history; thank you Mr. Firmin and the SAS for an outstanding job.

I was six and a half when I saw this on TV and I never forgot it. Made us kids feel safe, knowing we had the SAS. Thanks for this. To see it through adult eyes, from the 'horses mouth' is truly humbling.

I watched the film ‘6 days’ earlier, I didn’t know there was a movie about the siege up until today but it was pretty good film. Pretty cool one of the protagonists was rusty ( well not him but an actor playing him ). 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 true British hero

Cant believe its 40 years to the day today. I can remember it vividly as a 10yr old boy seeing these men all dressed in black taking the Iranian embassy by storm. I can remember being scared and amazed watching the news. It still amazes me to this day. 👍👍👍

It really is true that ‘we sleep peacefully in our beds because rough men stand ready to visit violence upon those who would do us harm.’ Thanks from a grateful nation for what you did on that fateful day. Will listen to ‘Marche Des Parachutistes Belles’ today in honour of both red and blue teams efforts. Well done lads.

I know exactly where I was at 7:15 on that day.My MotherRIP was calling me to come in from the street where I was kicking a ball around. She called me in time watch th assault. She knew something was going to happen. I think all the adults were just waiting for some sort of assault. Especially after the death of Lavasani.I was 11yrs old and it blew everyone away!Great Day for British morale!

I remember 2 of the best things on that day! I was 15 at that time just back from Cyprus 🇨🇾, yes I know I kidded about it ,the poor bugger caught on that rope o fire going coming down from above, hard work to get that spot on with seconds to spare if that, the part I actually thought was some brilliant special tactics from some of the finest 👍I Always remember the stairs with every hostage run 🏃‍♀️for there lkves because they were terrified, hey 👋😀👍you guys had just saved your lkves already just feer I quess, I always thought how awesome was that for a great bit if team work, I also remember saying dad, that guy was spot on dropping that sky sneaky one's backside, 😀👍blimey I never new that was you until 15 minutes ago 😀😄🥰😃😘💜👊👊🤝cracking job 😀you 😘
