I will never forget, at my first bike meeting at Brands Hatch, the haunting wail of the Triumph and BSA triples, with their big open Mega pipes ! What a glorious sound and got me hooked on bikes at the age of 15, I have had a soft spot for Triumphs since and owned my T120R for 46 years.

I have many happy memories of the tripples. The main one was when three Triumph tripples were racing at Malory and going round the hair pin side by side, the sound is still mrmorable. I was also at Silverstone when Percy Tait was racing and he let me sit on Slippery Sam. Unfortunately, the only photo I have, is with me just standing by the bike. I had met Percy a few times as I lived just down the road from the factory, one day I was walking home and he stopped and gave me a ride home. Such a nice man. I invited him in for a cuppa, sometime later he tried to buy the family home. It was Fairfield House on the A45, just outside Allesley. By, that brings back memories lol.

Fantastic video. It's great to hear a first-hand account of the behind the scenes action that took place to develop and campaign these bikes. Even better when the account comes from Mr. Hyde himself! Thanks for presenting this!

Great video , which confirmed my belief that many folk get noise confused with power, when it is often the opposite of the truth 😁

Insane, but true - the moment when a friend tossed the keys to his Trident T150 at me and said take it for a ride, knowing I had never ridden a motorcycle before! Somehow, we both returned intact!

Paul Smart missed practice because he was collecting Barry Sheena’s sister, Maggie, from the airport. He did more than that - he married her in 1971. So dropping the bike was a small price to pay in the long run!
