Orrrrr the animator wanted to keep the symmetry of the shot. If you look at Cleves' verse you'll see there are only 4 wives saying the Ja's. Parr is once again absent but this time she has no reason to be. And also in the actual West end and soundtrack versions of the song the performer for Parr does in fact say Rude with the others wives. It was a nice theory but it's either wrong or the animator is sloppy

@@nex7414, or replaced by their "promiscuity". There's been many who had great accomplishments, but most were ignored for their relationships with men. Anne Boleyn & Katharine of Aragon for example did quite a bit but were usually done away with for the way they came into centre stage.

What about Rosa Parks, Florence Nightingale, the Suffragettes, the Night Witches, Cleopatra, Marie Curie, Mary Queen of Scots, Elizabeth I, The Women’s Land Army, Joan of Arc, Beatrice Shilling, Elizabeth Blackwell, Prohibition Protests carried out by women, Alexandra Samusenko, Harriet Quimby, Mary Shelley, Female Medics in nearly every war, Aelflaed, Caroline Herschel, and Jane Austin? I can’t tell if you’re getting my previous replies or not, youtube doesn’t let me see them. You can’t just say that history erases women’s successes when there’s so many examples of women’s successes out there. You also can’t say that the Queens did just as much as the man who revolutionalised Healthcare, Influenced Euroskepticism, Kickstarted the Renaissance, Popularised Football in England, translated the bible from Latin to English, formed a new church, made England one of the first countries to turn against Catholicism, and changed England almost completely.

@@hngh6404 I can name several from your list that are better known for their deaths or popular myths than their accomplishments. Perhaps a better statement would be that popular history likes to overlook women's accomplishments in favor of whatever mud can be slung their way if they're anything less than saintly? You don't learn the good stuff until you dig deeper or you're lucky enough to have a history teacher that enjoys doing their job beyond checking boxes on the curriculum.

Facts about the wives Anne Boylen and Katherine Howard are first cousins with Jane Seymour as their 2nd cousin. Catherine of Aragon was the godmother of Katherine Parr. Katherine was actually named after her. They all shared a common ancestor, who was also an ancestor of Henry. (I think it was one of the Edwards that ruled England.)

More fun lil facts with a History major: Catherine Parr married Jane Seymour’s brother Thomas (the man she is singing about in ‘I Dont Need Your Love’). This man reportedly groomed and tried to woo the teenaged Princess Elizabeth when she lived with Parr for years following her father’s death. Catherine Parr’s godmother was none other than Catherine of Aragon, she was named after her. And the woman who ‘helped’ Katherine Howard arrange her affair (Lady Jane Rochford, who was executed along with Katherine) was the wife of Anne Boleyn’s brother, George; executed in 1536 for treason and incest with Anne.

Thank GOD someone brought up what a shitbag human being Thomas Seymour was. As if being a groomer wasn't enough, he also tried to kidnap the young Edward VI (his own nephew!) He broke into the King's apartments and, when a dog barked, he shot it. The noise alerted one of the guards who alerted Edward VI. The fact that he groomed his wife's teenage stepdaughter (because really, that's what Princess Elizabeth was to Catherine Parr) behind her back while she was pregnant with his child (Catherine Parr died either in childbirth/shortly postpartum) is absolutely sickening.

Fun fact: Anne of Cleves was actually still friends with Henry after their divorce and outlived him and all of his other wives. Later on he even admitted that he should've stayed with her, due to her being a great woman.

I have been waiting to see this show for two years and I am proud to say I finally got to witness it tonight (early birthday present from my mom. It's my birthday next week) and I LOVED IT!!!! When the lights went down and I saw them appear from the curtain, I thought I was going to die from excitement! I even started lip syncing to this as they sang because it's the only song I've spoiled myself with since I heard it during the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade two years ago.

Fun Fact: Actually, the only one Henry actually married for love was Aragon and not Seymour Some time after being promised to her (who was his brother's widow btw) he truly fell in love, much because of her intelligence While he actually just married Seymour because he wanted a male heir and he only had 2 daughters from Aragon and Boleyn He started really loving Seymour after she gave him a male heir, but didn't last long cause she died days later, than he quickly married another

Yeah in fact Aragon was literally dirt poor when she married Henry. He literally saw himself as his knight in shining armor rescuing the damsel in distress. I believe he truly loved her until Anne came into the picture. And the rest? Jane Seymour he only loved after her death and only because she gave her a son. Anna of Cleves was like a sister to him and much better as a platonic friend than a lover, Katherine Howard he groomed, and Catherine Parr was just a nursemaid(who was also his first wife’s goddaughter 🤮). He actually tried to get her executed once actually lol. He was truly a disgusting, dishonorable man, undeserving of the royalty that was bestowed unto him.

Not just you. Anna of Cleves was historically very beautiful. And Hans Holbein was never known to exaggerate the beauty of the women he painted in his portraits. It was just Henry who lied about it because Cleves didn’t stroke his ego when he dressed up as Robin Hood. History is written by the winners, ofc.

@@maydayjanette226 not really a fan of musicles, or Hamilton, but I can confidently say that Hamilton is far better than six. In general American musicals are a lot better than British ones Don't get me wrong, I enjoy certain bits of the soundtrack of both, but as someone who can't stand sitting through musicals, I can tolerate Hamilton vs only enjoying 2 songs from six and not being able to sit through anything else without annoyance and boredom.

Of course it's gonna be inaccurate, it's more of an adaptation than an accurate textbook. That's like saying the movies suck because the directors didn't do what some books say beat for beat. They're both adaptations, so you can choose to edit it for whatever reason. Like in Perks of Being a Wallflower (movie) Patrick was called nothing because of the first scene in shop class when he stood up to him. In the book "Nothing" was a stuck around nickname from older times since other kids called him Patty. In Hamilton, Philip Hamilton was shot at pace 7 and then dies by the end of stay alive reprise for story structure. In history, Philip was shot way later and stays alive for at least about 3 hours which was remarkable for the time. Again they're adaptations rather than beat for beat tellings from what they are

I love how Cathrine of Aragon has a big tiara because she’s the “true” queen of England, while Anna of Cleves has a smaller, irregular tiara because she was still princess of Wales before marrying Henry. Edit: I apologize, Cathrine of Aragon was Princess of Wales before becoming Queen of England. However, after the marriage Anna was still seen as a very powerful and rich woman due to the divorce settlement. So the crown still fits.

I just wanted to say thank you. It's because of this video I found SIX in November 2019, and over 3 years later it still brings be so much joy. SIX has helped get me through tough times, and it's such a huge part of my life. I would have never found the Queendom if it wasn't for this animatic, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Its crazy how Catherine of Aragon and Anne of cleeves are divorced and they died because of cancer, Anne boleyn and Katherine howard are cousins and are beheaded because of the accusation of cheating and the last two are Jane seymour and Catherine parr died the same because of giving birth to a child!

Also: Catherine Parr married Jane’s brother Thomas who (possibly) molested the teenaged Princess Elizabeth when she lived with Parr for 7 years following her father death. Catherine Parr’s godmother was none other than Catherine of Aragon, she was named after her. And the woman who ‘helped’ Katherine Howard arrange her affair (Lady Jane Rochford, who was executed minutes before Katherine) was the wife of Anne Boleyn’s brother, George; executed in 1536 for treason and incest with Anne.
