It really does look like shifting down to 1st provides an advantage. Watching the splits it was clear to me how much advantage it gave the few times you did it. I think you have a 1.50.x in you!

Panorama immediately became one of my favorites once I learned how to hit through it. Bombing the chicane hill after the sand pit and slamming the breaks at the end is so satisfying

I think there's something to be said about the "fishing" technique that Dstinctneif does. They do quite a lot of turning in, turning away, then back in, practically making the tires scrub & re-gain traction mid-corner. You can see how it's never one smooth motion.

Thanks for all your tips I didn't realise you could race with another drivers ghost.... unfortunately im still on the ps4 controler I'd say breaking with gears really helps ....Thanks again going to try that myself

I didn't realise ghosts in GT 7 were offset forward from the starting line.

I'm using a PS4 controller with X-accelerate Square-brake L2-downshift R2-upshift and this is really tricky, currently on a 1:53.147. Basically my throttle and brake are switches lol.

Why not using L2 to brake and R2 as a throttle? Upshift with X and Downshift with square. Give it a try, you'll improve a lot when you get used to it.

@@juancabral2003 I tried this, but maybe my hands are too big. The grip on the controller becomes so light that it just creates additional problems.Would be good though to know at start of races who is on what.

@@WalkswithMax keep trying, you will eventually get used to it and there's just so much advantage that you are now losing.

Pretty inefficient do it the way you're doing. Firstly, you get a lot more acceleration+braking control by using L2/R2. Second, you can modulate brake and accelaration at the same time by using L2/R2. Third, if you use those buttons for shifting, your shifting would be a a bit slower due to the longer travel those buttons require. If anything, move those to L1/R1. But i'd recommend L2/R2 = accelerate/brake, and X and O for shifting gears. Use index fingers for L2/R2, and thumb for shifting.

Best time I got is 1:52.9 on controller. Was able to get 4 tenths ahead of my personal best but messed up on the last turn

Geez… I’ve been revving to redline and using 2nd gear in the corners you’re using 3rd. Looks like the big motor and torque w low revs is the way to go for better times

@@anomalychasing5383 knowing the coarse helps a lot obviously , find u can gain/lose a lot of time on last 4 corners. maybe easier as use a pad myself, some courses suit pads well, i did about 6 laps and im not a high driver rating. just lucky i guess

If you're at max speed when crossing the line for another lap, how come you're so far behind your own best lap ghost car? Surely you should be right on it?

You can set up a gap between you and the ghost that resets at the beginning of every lap

These slower cars require more skill than some of the crazy fast ones. Real test of feathering the brakes. AVE AT EM.

what im i doing wrong? on the ranking leader board i do see the blue replay button, but when trying to watch it tho... the only options available for me are "Load ghost" and "see profile" but no "play replay" :C

Walter Röhrl "sliding is always slower" GT7 time trial top drivers: "hold my beer" Really shows the GT7 physics weaknesses I believe. There seems to be a lot of exploitation of the physics engine going on in every top time trial I see...
