As a coach at the regional, state, and national level, I find all these videos to be extremely well done. Great creative scripts for each video! They are tremendous training aids for beginners and something to which team members can refer all year. This particular video is a perfect example of the flow of a mock trial without distracting the viewers with objections or sidebar items. I really like how you made the trial a fun topic and shortened the openings, direct, cross, and closing just to give a condensed flavor for the whole 90 minute mock while still showing the pieces and parts. Very creative. Great "actors" too! Thank you for taking the time to prepare these videos. They will help many, for many years.

barefootin17 please tell me, how often do the mock trial meetings occur in school, and how does it all work? I hope u respond because I am looking into it this as a school hobbie and it looks so fun but I hope it is not a club in school that only occurs once a semester. I hope there are like met tings to attend once or twice a week cause it looks fun and something I can really get into.

4:12-4:31 During the cross examination they could have nailed her ass by asking leading questions. You say you could not recall anything about the party, is this true? Yes. So is it possible you could have left the party? Yes. And therefore it is possible that you could have broken into Emma Watson's store, yes or no? Yes. The prosecution passes the witness your honor.

Yes. a dozen failures to object, and a failure to move for directed verdict. The people failed to object (beyond direct/cross) as well. The court failed to intervene to prevent reversible error (in part, for incompetency of counsel). The Wack A Mole up and down was distracting as were the high heel clicking on the floor and the bailiff/clerk should have been sanctioned for contempt (dignity and decorum).
@jerryocrow14 жыл бұрын
Note: There was no evidence that a crime was committed within the state (jurisdiction) or in the county (venue).
@dontme69964 жыл бұрын
@@jerryocrow1 Former HS and current AMTA competitor here, movements for directed verdicts are HIGHLY inappropriate and are NEVER sustained. Happened against my team once at an invitational in Fort Worth. I had to stand up and basically call them out for how inappropriate it was. The judge agreed, they also lost both ballots that round. Judges will almost NEVER intervene for "incompetency of counsel" because they're: 1. Not real attorneys familiar with EVERY trial procedure 2. Normal people who understand different coaches and jurisdictions teach different information Plus, they're walking on brick floors, you really think dress shoes aren't going to make noise? Get over yourself. Also, the penal code and pretrial rulings found in case packets generally stipulate/establish jurisdiction information. These are young teens just teaching basic court procedure, not full blown 3L, PC students demonstrating every possible scenario; let me guess, you're the kind of guy who objects to relevance?

Curious- why didn't anybody object to anything? And don't people have to explain why the questions they just asked support their case? Like, when the prosecution asked Miley Cyrus why she couldn't remember anything, shouldn't he have gone "Your honor, not remembering anything from that night could very well be a cover-up for the robbery". Or am I being dumb?
