If you guys just held it and didn’t cheat Russia maybe Germany could still be what it was and those soldiers would’ve never died there Hitler stupidity for playing games with the East How could he open a third front when he has 2 already I can’t imagine how he got him self mixed up in the East He literally promised Stalin that all was good Next day German army 60km from Moscow like WTH 🤦🏻‍♂️ Anyway millions have perished and today good people are doing a good deed Many families in Russia and Germany wish to bury their dead grand fathers I admire the german army of that time such a well trained army but the leader gone nuts luring many to their unknown end

A lot of people are commenting how they were just thrown into a trench and forgotten. One tactic of tanks when encountering trenches was to drive over them and do circles burying everyone and everything inside. It conserved very scarce ammo and annihilated the infantry whose small arms could not pierce the tank armor. This seems like the most likely situation here. This is described very well in “Blood Red Snow” which has an audiobook version here on yatube

They may have been buried by tanks but let's not forget that on the Eastern Front soldiers died by the millions. For those burials there would not have been sufficient capacity even if there had been intention to bury them with honour. But the main tasks were: move forward, move backward or build another strongpoint. One had the chance to end up in a mass grave or burn on a body pile at the side of the road just as much as have an own grave with a cross or any sign. The great percentage of Missing in Action soldiers of several battles suggests how many id tags were never taken off as a minimum care of the human being and his/her relatives.

One of my great grandfathers was a German soldier in the Wehrmacht. You would be surprised at, how many of the German people, really knew about concentration camps. The MAJORITY, were clueless. But then, again, the victors write history, so what is the REAL TRUTH, especially with ALL the weird Marxist 🤡🐑💉🤖🤥🐀💩😵 democrat NONSENSE, that's been happening, lately, NOTHING surprises ME, anymore.🤔😒

Not sure I’d want to be digging around or handling those munitions as some could still be live. I realize they are nearly 80 years old and have been in water soaked ground…but still. On the other hand, I am glad to see those soldiers get a decent burial and possibly a funeral service if id’d. You do a great service for humanity. Good luck and good finds in the future.

I think this job is important as well as you may be help the families that lost their loved ones and hopefully be contacted for a reburial. When these soldiers were missing in action (MIA), the families had no clue where their loved one was. I think this would be the best closure for the families that were affected. RIP to all the soldiers who perished in WWII, regardless of ideology.
