Excel - Data from Picture - Microsoft 365 New Feature

Have you ever had a printed page of data and needed to put the data in Excel? Typing the data is a real pain. Excel for M365 allows you to put the data in a worksheet using Data from Picture. It is a great feature and is extremely accurate. Data from Picture can be used with webpages, pictures on your clipboard from a screenshot, or pictures taken of printed data from a book. You have two options when using Data from Picture. You can use Data from Picture from an image on your clipboard on a file on your computer.

Steps:
Select the Data tab, click From Picture and then click Picture From File. If your image is on the clipboard, select Picture from File.

This look great. Thanks for sharing. I wanted to try. However, my excel doesn't have this icon. I didn't even find it within the Customize Ribbon menu. I seek it as "from picture".

Hi Chris, I have an excel file with loads of information for different time periods. We have over a thousand companies segregated into specific business units. This sheet also tracks some fees incurred by each company and are structured in diff columns: Opening balance for FY2020, Fees for additional scope, Fees for new standards, Closing balance of FY2020/Opening for FY2021, Fees for additional scope in 2021, blah blah. Is it possible to create a table instantly that shows the different business units and the fees for each year but at the same time reflect the movements? So sorry for the long message.

I have 16.72 excel ,including 365 apps , I’m using excel at the moment insert picture was really good , working , all of a sudden insert picture is greyed out , can’t find what caused that…

Hi Chris, I have a Mac M1 with MS Excel 2021 (Office Home and Student 2021) Version 16.68. But nowhere do I see the "Data from Picture" option. Can you please help? Thank you

Even with Beta features, they don't roll them out all at the same time. Which does aggravate me when I don't get one.

Microsoft 365 with Beta channel. This feature has just been released to Beta users. It may be two to four months before it comes out to the general public for 365 users.

Slowly rolling out. I have it on one computers but not on another computer. Same Excel version. I hope you get it soon. I use it frequently.
