Absolutely fantastic. I have been struggling with all kinds of alternative methods updating my Excel with current prices. Using Excel 2013 (still yes), VBA for a tailormade little portfolio for my hubby. All my previous solutions would work for a while and then suddenly stop working for no reason at all (web-scraping from YAHOO finance). Your solution is the best by far and it worked instantly even with Excel 2013 and I could easily incorporate it into my existing programming. Thank you thank you thank you. I tried CHATGPT, and wasted days of my time until I found you! Now how to do the same for the USD$ to CAD$ currency?

@@stevestipstechtackle I figured it out in the mean time! Here is it: together with all the stock tickers or using the very same string, just use USDCAD=X or CADUSD=X depending on which you need! Works like a charm and I am very thankful to you! Have to admit, my day was also made finding you and your solution. My whole procedure is so much smoother and cleaner now.

Doesn't seem to be working anymore. I get a page still asking me to sign in. Also, do you know of any way to grab the data from the My Portfolio/My Holdings screen that includes the current shares held info as well?

Rob thanks! Hmmmm. The link should still work - I use the refresh data button daily in Excel with the link. Unfortunately, the My Holdings page with shares held data will not work unless logged in to the Yahoo Finance portal. The only other view that works *without logging* in is the same link, but changing the end from V1 to FV - this view provides the fundamental data for the stocks. EXAMPLE: finance.yahoo.com/quotes/AAPL/view/fv The only way to get your holdings is to get the log-on function to work in Excel - and that has been one problem I have not cracked the code on yet.... If I get it to work I will provide an update! -Steve

@@stevestipstechtackle I guess that makes sense, as they would need to know the user to get their portfolio. I wonder if it would work if I was already logged in to my portfolio? The /fv version works for me.

Sweeeet! Glad it is working! I tried the portfolio view URL in Excel when already logged in, no dice. From what I see each time Excel reaches out to the Web to pull the data it is a "fresh" web pull, so it is not using your open browser history or cookies.
