As usual, a great video, THANK YOU Dan! This is what I learned from this video - Use Cells as a Property [Note: the snytax is 'Cells' not 'Cell] - Use Cells Property within Range Object - Using a variable within Cells Property - Use Column reference such as "C" or "AC" within a Cells property instead of an index, comes handy instead of counting index number for column "CK" - Easy/Lazy way to refer a range using a square bracket (from a use comment) God Bless

Thanks for this clear lesson. Can you give your advice wheter you should use Range(cells(1,1),cells(6,3)) or cells(1,1).resize(6,3)? Or don't have these two any connections?

What most people know is that cells object also supports column text name so cells(6,3) can also be written as cells(6, "C").....it comes in handy when you are referencing bigger columns

Great video series. I find it interesting that in VBA Excel references the cells "backwards" -- I mean row first, then column. But whenever you click on a spreadsheet cell, the column is first. The name box will never say "3B" but B3.

There is an option in Excel to change the reference style to the one used in VBA. A1 would then be R1C1 or B3 would be R3C2 and so on. However it's very inconvenient for long formulas.

It's because it uses (X,Y) coordinates which is the standard form. So technically VBA is correct and actually the reg Excel is "backwards".

you don't have a second cell provided for your range. the range function is looking for a starting cell and an ending cell to create a range. Range(a,b) will give you a range from a to b. you have not entered a b location! If you want a range between cells a1 and c6 you must enter Range(Cells(1,1), Cells(6,3)) = "ha". Do you see how you are missing the second cell.
