Now that he can sit in the Emirates Stadium stands and be a supporter of Arsenal Football Club rather than our manager, Arsène Wenger is delighted that the progress we made thanks to his 22 years of devotion is continuing under the current regime.
Our legendary manager’s place in history was already assured thanks to the three league titles and seven FA Cups he claimed, but now it is truly set in stone - or rather bronze - after he was immortalised with a statue outside the stadium.
Sitting back in our iconic north London home his success and stability helped to build, he admits that when he looks at the upward trajectory we are currently enjoying on and off the field, he is filled with satisfaction and pride that the foundations he created continue to be used as the blueprint for success by familiar faces he has complete trust in.
“I worked for this club when I had the experience and capacity to look at the bigger picture,” he said after visiting his statue for the first time. “Many times I said I want to work and prepare this club to go even higher up after me, and I wish every day that happens now.
“I feel that the effort and the suffering was worth it. Now the club is in good hands; It’s in the hands of two ex-players in Mikel Arteta and Edu; I bought Edu when he was at Corinthians and Mikel Arteta from Everton, and they are guiding the club well. I can look at it in a relaxed way!
“I feel that Mikel is doing well, making the right decisions, and having an organised team who, for me, can now challenge for the championship. We did it last year, let’s get over the line this year.
“I’m confident because last year with eight games to go, I always felt we would do it. We invested again a lot this year and strengthened the squad well, so overall I’m very happy with the three signings. We have all the tools to do well and to challenge for the championship.”

I miss Arsene at the club everyday, I’ve been a fan of Arsenal since 1987, around about 2007 I was constantly arguing with other arsenal fans who were saying Arsene is stupid and doesn’t know what he is doing, I could see he was still competing with the best teams despite having little money to spend due to the stadium, the stadium only got backing from sponsors if Arsene was staying on as manager, I was 14 years old when he arrived at arsenal, kinda strange but I really felt like I’d grown up with him, kinda like a wise old man figure in my life

I feel sorry for Arsene as he brought in so many gems for less than 8million & then when he splashed the cash the players didn't perform to the expected levels. Its hard to fully assess Ozil as he was clearly a classy architect but evidently needed a workhorse esque player to do aid Ozil when he went missing. Xhaka was a frustrating signing at first & Mustafi was maybe the worst signing in our history. Sanchez was a true class act & the swap with Mkhitaryan still hurts my head to this day.. Signing Lacazette & Aubameyang was well played but it was too late & not enough to stop the conceding goals rot.

Long overdue statue that. Things might have ended badly for him at the club but he deservs this for everything he did for the 10 years or so before that. One Arsene Wenger 👏👏

Build a stadium, raise youth, make money. He is the father of complete Arsenal. The reason why we were able to recruit Saka and Rice now. The reason Arteta could be directing. It's all thanks to you.

The Arsenal we love today was built from the ground up by Arsene; by giving players (like Mikel, Edu, Per, Jack Wilshire) a home to belong to, rather than just a club to play for. Thank you Arsene. You are Arsenal ❤️

Arsene is the father of the modern Arsenal Football Club. Hearing him speak about the language of sport is incredible. Hopefully he visits the players in the dressing room more in the future. A true legend in every sense of a word which is oft overused.

What a privilege to have had Arsene serve our club for 22 years and for everything he brought to Arsenal and football in general. He optimises class, grace, dedication, passion and loyalty and it's great to finally see the recognition for his service with a statue of Le Professeur at the Emirates. A true legend who gave us supporters many cherished memories and success.

What an elegant and classy man, absolute legend. Really unforgivable how some 'fans' treated him him so disgracefully and contributed to drive him out of a club that Arsene put back on the Elite football workl stage with fresh and innovate football. I will always, always look at this man with such fondness for what he did for the club as a whole, he is forever an integral part of Arsenal's history and should get a senior influential position back at the club, Arsene would take it (and deeserves) in a flash !

It’s funny how there are no horrible comments about The Boss considering the disgusting way he was hounded out. Visionary, revolutionary, classy. We will never see managers of the same calibre as Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex ever again.
