EXCLUSIVE: Baltimore Co. Council Chair discusses leaked plans to weaken Inspector General's office

In an exclusive FOX45 interview, Baltimore County Council Chair Julian Jones is discussing his leaked amendments that would weaken the office of the Inspector General. If passed, the policies would limit the watchdogs’ funding, operation, and ability to publish reports.
“It's outrageous. It's outrageous!” exclaimed Baltimore County Inspector General (IG) Kelly Madigan.
“Neither she nor this administration were made aware of these amendments,” said Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski.

At the Baltimore County taxpayer, I do not feel as though I am being represented in any way, shape, or form! Not only am I being taxed into the poor house, everything done in the county seems to be against my best interests! I'm a homeowner and a small business owner, and I can't afford to be here anymore! never mind feel as though I have any representation whatsoever

It would be real nice, if somebody would investigate why all the roads are rushed to be REdone, in the final two months of the year.. and why none of the work trucks seem to have business names on them.. and have all non-english speaking workers.. and the roads are so bad, that they can't be driven on as a result! They took beautiful roads, and cut and repaved 10 foot sections, that are DESTROYING our cars!!! Drive out front of General John Stricker Middle School in Dundalk, and look at just how poorly. I've never seen roads so bad in my life!!! Every road in this Charlesmont area, are being rushed to bedone, to spend as much funsing as possible, at once! 21222 area What recourse do we taxpayers have? Who do we complain to, that our neighborhoods are being destroyed?

I’m not sure that I understand any of this. On the one hand, we want the investigative body to be able to do a full investigation when wrongdoing is suspected. On the other hand, we don’t want an overbearing government body needlessly interfering in people’s lives. I’m not sure if these amendments advance the cause of thorough but limited government acting under reasonable constraints or not.

"overbearing government body needlessly interfering in people’s lives" the IG aka Inspector General is only overlooks government officials, they don't overlook private citizens. Limiting them would only limit the government's ability to inspect itself.

In Baltimore the mayor is a Democrat. The city council president is a Democrat. 10 of the 14 city council members are black. The city council members are all Democrats. The police commissioner is is appointed by city leadership. Baltimore's AG is a Democrat. The issues in Baltimore are not due to racism. The issues are due to culture. They are also the fault of the Democratic Party. The last Republican mayor of Baltimore left office in 1968.

Don't forget the self destructive residents of Baltimore who want everything for free, yet tear up and destroy everything they're given (schools, public housing, etc). They want jobs yet rob and terrorize the places that could employ them. They want nice places to live yet tear up their own areas. They don't have enough pride in themselves to clean up their own neighborhoods, yet complain about their surroundings. The endless cycle reapts itself over and over.

no way should they weaken the I/G this guy was caught with his hand in the cookie jar before he is a politician and works for the people but some of them dont see it that way they arent entitled or higher than thou let me make one final point PUBLIC SERVANTS remember that see past thier bogus promises and fact check them no matter whom
