@Kwame Owusu It will be bad for Empire alone. The Tort is just to ask Empire to release and not interfere with Blacko as he's in the same relationship he has with them with the Investors. And the investors were first, and the contract with them is still valid and active, by law.

But wouldn't whether or not it really amounts to tortious interference depending on the specific clauses in the contract? Artistes can have multiple investors and business managers. In fact, that's usually the case. Unless the contract specifically says he can't have other investors or business managers, i don't see how that's interference. And if the contract gave exclusive rights of business management to these people then why would they be trying improving the terms of the empire deal in the first place? I'm eager to see how this case plays out in court cos this is a single story but the facts as they have been laid out don't clearly point out the breach. The contract with empire covers two singles and an ep for 15 years. According to him, they didn't finance the second sermon remix and they obviously didn't finance the other single now (which is probably Kweku the Traveller) and the ep so how can they own masters to songs they haven't financed yet? Besides since they started financing him till now that the contact is terminated, he hasn't released any songs so there's still some arguments to be made about whether they can own masters to unreleased tracks.
