Neighborhood flooding created a massive sinkhole in east Baltimore that crews had to excavate in order to access a 145-year-old storm drain to make repairs. The sinkhole started at about the size of a basketball and kept growing to about six stories down from the surface near Lake Montebello in East Baltimore. The Baltimore City Department of Public Works told 11 News Investigates that the sinkhole had no impact on the lake, but it forced a portion of the area that's used for walking, jogging and bike-riding to close. WBAL-TV 11 News Investigates got an exclusive, up-close look at the massive project to repair the storm drain and the damage caused by the big sinkhole.
