چند ایک چیزیں ایسی ہیں جن پہ فخر ہوتا ہے، ایک ان میں سے یہ کہ ہم نے افتخار عارف کے ادبی عہد میں کچھ سفر کیا ہے۔۔۔

افتخار عارف صاحب پاکستان کی وہ خوبصورت شخصیت ہیں کہ ان جیسی شخصیات کی موجودگی میں روز قیامت ہم جیسے کوتاہ سمجھ بھی مسلمان اور پاکستانی ہونے پہ نہ صرف یہ کہ فخر محسوس کریں گے بلکہ ان کے دور میں ہونے کی نسبت پہ بھی رشک کیا کریں گے❤

There are 4 reasons that can't eliminate Imran Khan from the politics. 1) A million of Muslims, Christians , Jews, Hindu and Buddhist respect to Imran Khan from their core of hearts. 2) China , Saudi Arabia and Israel support to Imran Khan. 3) In America congressman prefer to Imran Khan. 4) Pakistan Army is also support to Imran Khan except Mr. Munir.

افتخار عارف ایک عہد ساز شخصیت , ایک صاحب اسلوب شاعر ایک منفرد لب لہجے کے مالک اور قومی اثاثہ ہیں۔ جب بولتے ہیں تو جی چاہتا ہے کہ بولتے ہی رہیں۔

This is the bad fate that somebody is so great and he gets only a few comments. This shows how illiterate and disrespectful we are!!!

The poet's one remark that no poetry can support oppression suggests a widespread modern mindset discernible in the Indic literature including that of Urdu is that the great literature has to be progressive or ideological. By this logic, all pre-modern literature is not good to the extent it doesn't speak against the rich and for the poor. Good example from Urdu are Iqbal, Faez or Sahir. But the pre-modern and some of the modern Urdu adeeb were not progressive or ideological in the modern sense. Iqbal didn't write or speak a word against the massacre of Jallianwala Bagh in 1919 while Tagore returned his knighthood. Ghalib's following statement is not progressive or ideological but is about the universal limitation of one's being : Na kuch tha to khuda that, na kuch hota to khuda hota, duboya mujhko hone ne, na men hota to kya hota ? No Iqbal or Sahir can match this poetic profundity. And here is a non-secular statement from Akbar Allahabadi : Harefon ne likhayee he rapat ja ja ke thane men, ke Akbar naam leta hai khuda ka is zamane men. Would you rate Akbar lower because he was not a progressive? Art is great because it is great. There is no rationale behind its greatness.

عاصمہ کا ادب سے دور کا بھیج واسطہ نہیں اور افتخار عارف کو بھی سوچنا چاھیے تھا مگر وہ ان لوگوں میں سے ھیں جو میڈیا کو ادب پر اھمیت دیتے ھیں جو کہ بڑی کمائی ھے ؟
