I remember being 11 years old at an A's game back in 1988 during batting practice and Canseco walking towards the dugout. I asked for his autograph and he said, "No Autographs." I felt letdown, but I got over it. I still appreciate Jose, despite what he's been through. I even saw a special on him that was depressing in regards to losing his mansion, people wanting to start fights with him, and being served a subpoena at a baseball game. I felt bad for this man. What he did happened a long time ago. He didn't murder anyone for crying out loud.

He was no different in spring training at that same time. He would come into Phoenix Muni driving his red car at 100mph. (Before the street divided the parking lot). Him and his girl would get out. She would drive away in his car. He would walk right into the clubhouse. No signing for anyone at 7:45am in the morning. Never been a fan of his for that reason. This was his rookie and 2nd year with the team. He never signed one autograph.

He got 4 and the current player (Rivets are collegiate summer league) got 5. For 59, that's pretty good to be close to the same level of power hitting as up and coming athletes. His performance at age 46 with Yuma was pretty incredible, he was probably one of the top 5 guys on the team, if not blackballed he might have had an epic length career like Nolan Ryan. I think he'd still be able to perform better than guys 20 years younger in an old timers game. I know he'd out perform me because I'm 20 years younger and trying to bring back what I had a year ago, hobbling around hoping my knees and elbows recover.

@george9628 10 сағат бұрын
If all men were 6 feet 5 inches tall And weighed 235 pounds, hitting a baseball 400 feet over the fence for a home run would be very simple and common. Most 14 year Old boys can hit a base ball to 75 percent of the out field area with is about 375 feet with a fast pitch and a good metal bat. Even a small ball player can do this. This is the point Canseco can hit the long ball because he is a huge guy. Pete Rose played MLB baseball because he was a great baseball player. Size matters so much in physical competition. Especially sports.
