So in Mid November I was informed that one of the New Amtrak Avelia sets was on the lower station level at 30th Street station Philadelphia. It seemed more like it was being stored there for later use or testing, rather than being on display. Either was it was a treat to see. This is a exterior view mostly, with some interior shots through windows that had the shades open.
Acela Class will be the new standard level of seating for these trains and there will be one first class car. The Business Class branding appears to be dropped from these trains. For those that saw the first trainset, you''ll recall the Business Class branding was included. The cafe cars will have no seating, just standing and table countertop space. Seating will continue to be assigned; likely by car and seat number like the current service. More details are expected to emerge in the coming months.
