the vstar is more expensive than the ex because prize pack 2 was very low pop and less was allocated to stores. this applies even moreso with charizard vmax from prize pack 1. prize pack 3 (and likely 4) have been printed more and will be supplied more.

Opened my first Series 4 prize last night. A bunch of tools & supporters, always appreciated. I think my favorite prizes from past packs so far have been Forest Seal Stone & Ampharos EX (the same from the deck, but stamped!)

Well, since I am the Prize card queen that owns the majority of series 1 circulating packs, I can explain. Base set zard? Meh. Remove the shadow.. boom! Lugia from neo? Meh. Add a 1st edition stamp.. boooom! Rarity. The rarest Charizard card of all time is the VMAX from series 1 that got a single wave and pokemon goofed up on series 1 by forgetting to put "Not for resale" all over the wrapper like they did with 2, 3, 4, and will keep doing. Prize pack series 1 is the rarest pack of all time. It's that simple. Series 2 got multiple waves, 3 got even more and had the radiants.. and 4 they are just dishing out like candy. That's why the ex will stay cheaper than the VStar... There's more of them zard VStar with the stamp is a mere pop 1 in a PSA 10. Umbreon from Prize series is the only umbreon card in existence to not have a gem mint 10. But, there are 39 PSA 9's. Gem Mint prize pack hits are incredibly difficult and almost impossibly rare to get. Pikachu Vmax? Pop 1. Radiant Gardevoir? Pop 1. Zard Vmax? Pop 3.. and the most expensive modern card in a 10 by miles. Even the more common radiant zard in a PSA 10 is fetching Moonbreon PSA 10 prices. Whether one cares or not. The early prize series hits are as rare as legal cards basically get. That's the collector appeal. Ex will not pass VStar. In due time, with oversaturated pop rates, zard Vmax with the prize stamp could theoretically become the grail. It's the rarest zard of all time. Easy case to make. Iconic artwork that was replicated in rainbow and shiny form.. during the multigenerational nostalgic peak. Prize series was missed by scalpers while collectors were able to quietly get them for cheap. Prices started going up, so series 4 is getting much more printed than it's predecessors.

I really like these prize packs. I’ve added every pps2 & 3 card from the brilliant stars set to my masterset. This gives the set more 🔥.

Y’know the Kyogre is not bad in Baxcalibur decks. Superior Energy Retrieval, snipe for 180, then you have 3 energy back in your hand for the next turn. Not too outrageous to think there would be a meta where it’s good.
