Ah man, I literally had the Ares in my cart and about to buy yesterday... Decided to wait to make sure it was something worth buying. After watching a bunch of reviews and saw some room for improvements, I'm glad I waiting, looks like I'll be getting this later this year!

Are you not tempted for the v1 now that it’s $500 dollars off? I was in the same boat as you, but now with the deep discount on a v1 I’m not so sure the v2 is worth a premium. I bet it is sold at least $100 - $200 higher that’s the previous 2.8k when preorders go live next month.

I always thought it would be so amazing if the weight stacks were integrated into the side crossmembers like the Athena but still had the dual center pulleys for lat pulldowns

I feel like you guys need to hold live bi-yearly unveilings like Apple and Google. You guys are constantly innovating home gyms. Can we expect a leg extension/curl announcement anytime soon? And will it be compatible with the Ares 2.0?

If you make it so you can adjust the foot plate and low row pulley height to accommodate for different heights of people’s benches and different people’s heights in general this would be a perfect machine

Freaking awesome, so glad I waited and will definitely buy this when it hits. Almost pulled the trigger this past Black Friday, but life got in the way. It’s nice to have the option of being the 2.0 when the time comes.

If it's feasible and economically practical, I'm certain they'll offer some kind of upgrade, but the issue is whether it's possible to implement at a price point that makes it worth upgrading as opposed to just buying a new Ares.

I’ll be first in line for an upgrade kit for my PR-4000 version. Even if the only thing that is compatible is my weight stack.

Idk about you but I feel like the pr4000 users are the red headed step children of the echo system... There's just not as many options out there for us 5/8" hole people 🫤

If we can assume things like weight stacks, guide rods, hardware, and most (if not all) of the aluminum pulleys could be ported over to the new brackets/pulley holders (heck, even the knurled handles on the old trolleys could be reused), I would gladly buy an upgrade package for the rest of the items. You don't even have to give me the v2 lat and low row bars to help cut down on those costs.

I asked REP and they have no plans for an upgrade kit. It also states on their FAQ that too much has changed to do this. I'm bummed, but they should at least make something to fix the low row. Still love my 1.0!

This is so frustrating. Before purchasing my Rep Area 1.0 on Jan 30th 2024, I specifically asked the customer support team if I should wait because of the known issue. They advised that only the Adonis would be releasing soon. Avoiding an imminent release of an updated design to the Ares is the literal nightmare situation I was trying to avoid. I can’t help but feel burned by Rep. so disappointing and a real let down from a company I’ve spent close to $10k with.

Customer Support rarely has information that the company is keeping under wraps, as for wanting the 2.0, just sell the 1.0 once you're ready to upgrade. The 2.0 is probably a few months away, so just use the 1.0 until then, get as much value as you can out of it, then sell it

are you past the 30 day mark from when you purchased ares 1.0. If so, return in and wait for the up grade.

Awesome job,let’s put some band attachments on each side of the stacks and make a bench that can take advantage of the stacks with attachments for isometric leg extensions/curl with pop pin to connect them if desired ,preacher curl.lastly spread apart the lat pull down pulleys they’re to close but my idea is to have them selectable in and out kind of like the arms of a functional trainer speaking of it would be nice to have the option of having small functional trainer arms that adjust up and down inn and out like the ones on the cybex functional trainer as a replacement for the trolleys as an option or accessorie

Hey @REPfitness , can you make the top of the low row footplate foldable to allow for a built in spotter stand? Also, can you add band pegs to the weight stacks and have 550lb cables like the athena?

I bought mine seven days ago and I’m currently installing the cable pulleys now. If your Aries are still in the box, I would definitely ship it back and wait until August. Hell I think I might just do that same thing.

⁠@@poweredbyeb I agree ares 2.0 has some improvements but do you really think they are that substantial to take yours apart and attempt to ship back? They are mostly cosmetic really. The biggest change (announced anyway) is probably the low row being moved up some and the weight stack pushed back. If you have the 6 post I’d say you are fine with v1.

What would be the depth and width of the upcoming Ares 2.0 as a 6 post rack? Struggling with space so just need enough for flat/incline bench inside the rack.

smith machines are useless , since it is a cage rack it is far more secure than smith machines

Quick question - do the new mounting points for the stacks prevent the rear posts from being used for weight horns, particularly near the bottom of the rack?

I echo comments below of being extremely frustrated and disappointed as I just had my ares 1.0 delivered this week only to find this out after also hearing only the Adonis would be released soon. I called and asked REP and customer service can’t say when this is coming out and has also said the parts will NOT be interchangeable. As someone who was debating purchasing more REP equipment, I feel extremely let down after spending over 4k. Debating just returning my entire purchase for another brand.

You can, but you either need to pay a return fee or take store credit so they waive the fee. And then wait until at least august for the new 2.0 to be delivered
