Frankly disgraceful for a series of this magnitude to end like that. Worse than an 18-pitch at-bat ending in a walk. Or a walked-in walk-off. The umpires decided the outcome. What a surprise they ruled arbitrarily in favor of the bigger market.

poetic justice? there wasn't any justice in this game. The Giants got absolutely screwed out of a 107 win season because the worst umpire call ever decided to make the moment about himself. No one, not even Max Scherzer cares about 12'. least watched world series pre-covid, and no one remembers it outside of the detroiters who got swept. this ending was nothing short of a tragedy

In 2020 NLDS Padres were NO match for the dodgers getting blown out and swept. Giants made the dodgers fight and got SOOOO close to winning but just couldn’t capitalize on anything and dodgers could.

Tbh, we’ve both had really bad strike zones and controversial strikeouts this whole series.

the giants just got payback for that terrible call in the regular season which was clearly a swing. there wouldve a game 163 but yeah that was a terrible call

Even if he walks, there's still two outs with the #8 hitter Longoria (0-3 2 K in game .118 in postseason) on deck. The bad call in the regular season would have ended the game with LA winning. Subtract the bad calls and LA definitely wins the regular season game, but SF is still down by a run with 2 out in the 9th.

Especially Tyler Matzek, my God, he mowed down Pujols, Souza Jr., and Mookie like they were nobodies. Outside of A.J. Pollock and Chris Taylor (you can add a few at-bats from Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger if you want) the Dodgers just sputtered offensively. I will say this regarding Dave Roberts: using a bullpen session in game 5 against the Giants was a great plan. Doing it again in game 1 of the NLCS was ok, too, but burning Julio Urias in game 2 for some bullpen work was silly, considering he was gonna start a game in Dodger Stadium later in the series y'all needed him as fresh as possible. That's not smart on Roberts's part. It also didn't help the Dodgers that Max Scherzer couldn't start game 6 and Walker Buehler was forced to start on short(er) rest, which makes me wonder if the Dodgers did win game 6 and forced game 7 who'd would open that game. Probably Corey Knebel again...who knows. That decision I don't fault him for; after all, Buehler didn't do that bad except for the eventual series clinching HR by Eddie Rosario.

Well, it sucks, That’s just an understatement, but the dodgers just could capitalize in game 5, when the giants could not. Pitching carried giants game 3 and 5 we needed the game 1 offense but we just didn’t have that.

2 completely different situations tho. the umpire had missed 2 ball calls in that AB, and the no check swing call extended the game, whereas here it ended the game. dodgers still had an opportunity to win that game you speak of yet didnt capitalize, and here the giants season was ended on this call.

Someone had to have the bad ending. Thank god we got that check swing back in the end

What Alexander was referring to was that in the final season game between these two teams, the Giants benefited from a horrendous call when the Giant batter's OBVIOUS swing was called a check swing. The Giants came back to win that game and, ultimately, the NL West.

There can be, if the dodgers or giants get the 2 seed or 3 seed and win a series and if the dodgers or giants win the wild card game and division series against the 1 seed. Then they would both matchup in the NLCS

And you’re only World Series ring came in the fashion of a 60 game season that literally no other fanbase in the majority respects. It’s validity within the baseball fandom is practically along the lines of the Astors 2017 World Series win. Without the cheating obviously. But congrats on the great series.
