I am 67 years old. I smoked about 41 years so I am stage 4 copd with emphysema. I was on life support 8 years ago. I quit smoking in June of 2008 and was put on life support on December 10th of 2014. After I got off the ventilator on December the 30th, I went home and then I was put back in the hospital that January and February with Pneumonia. Then I went through 12 weeks of Pulmonary Rehab and after that I joined an adult wellness center to continue Exercising. My breathing went from 23 % in 2015 to 31% in October of 2021, when I had my last Pulmonary Function Test. Exercising is a great benefit for us. And having a lot of Faith in our Creator has been very beneficial as well.

Perhaps the next time you pass a children's hospital, you could pop in and witness the children born with terminal or life-defining conditions , then explain why your "creator" allowed that to happen. Wise up.

I have copd. I was severely asthmatic young. Nearly died several times. Through many events wett relocated to Hawaii where I soon thrived in the sub tropical environment. I took up fitness and weight lifting. Eventually I became very fit and conquered asthma. Or so I thought. In my late sixties it has resumed morphing into copd. Though I don't anticipate beating this progressive disease I intend to fight it will intense vigor. My lifetime fitness has benefited me in this regard. I workout five times a week and I'm still quite strong. Today, in fact, I squatted 500 pounds for two sets of 16 reps. Other movements were commensurately heavy. I do calisthenics daily and walk when I can. My diet is ~80% healthy. Getting progressively better. I will not succumb without a pitched battle I can assure you all! You can and must do likewise to the extent possible.

@@angelmarandola7987 I do a holistic approach. I carefully watch my diet, I take turmeric three times a day and other anti inflammatory supplements. My diet is currently somewhat ketogenic based but with fruits. I do calisthenics in the morning and weightlifting in the afternoon. I do breathing exercises in the evening. I fast for 12 hours every day and fast 24 hours once per week. I keep humidifiers on regularly indoors and ionizers.

I find my ability to breathe deeply is enhanced by exercise. I do daily resistance exercise and calisthenics. I do between 100 and 400 pushups, 100 sit ups and 100 goblet squats with a 25 pound dumbbell. After these movements I'm rewarded with freer and less restricted breathing for an hour or two.

Walking on flat ground would be better than not exercising at all. Then you will see improvements and will be able to do more.. You have to do it though. The reason you can't is because you don't... Pray about it!🙏

Why do they think only seniors have COPD? I'm 43 years old and I have COPD. I'll be dieing soon because I can't afford a oxigen machine and I only can get roughly 2 hours of sleep a day. My chest hurts and I can't get a full breath of air when I lay down.
