For five weeks now I have been successfully straightening my lifetime scoliosis and poor posture. Facebook sent me, "What happens when she lays with legs up the wall." I jumped on that...that and my knowledge for a year of earthing and I found a place outside where I could be bare backed and feet up the wall. I have been straight for two weeks more than I ever was straightened out. Now I am looking for ways to build muscle in my back that never could develop because my back was curved. I had recently shrank almost two inches and now I have restored 1.5 inches. (IF I had never shrank, I would be taller than I ever was.) Anyway, I began looking the direction of a ball chair since yesterday and your demo is food for thought. I wanted to see someone use one. I sit at an antique wooden desk and I use the top center drawer to hold my keyboard. The large ball might put me up higher so I could put my keyboard on the desk. I still don't know how my legs would be as I am 5'3" so would a big ball cause me to hang my legs more? How can I actually try one out? Are they returnable if I buy one and it is too big?

The exercise ball size is important if you use it as a chair. For all exercises I use the exercise ball, it does not matter what size exercise ball you use.

Would you say using a ball will help with coccyx pain? I can only stay seated on a regular chair (even with coccyx cushions) for about an hour before I’m in extreme discomfort :(

it can but strongly recommend looking into why the coccyx is painful. There are a few things that can go wrong with coccyx pain and there is a solution. People fail to realize the importance of coccyx in pelvic floor dysfunction.

Hi Dr. Mamak! The way I sit on my ball is more of a straddle position. I find this helps my lowerback and shoulders relax, but is it harmfull in any way? I'm late 20's, no illnesses, and exercise quite a lot. When sitting on a regular office chair i just can't help but slouch. Imagine the worst here: putting all my weight on upper left arm, supporting my head by the temple with left palm, and then using my mouse with right hand. An exercise ball almost feels relaxing to sit on. Thank you for your video that made me buy one.

Yes. It is not inflated fully but enough to keep the ergonomics proper. The desk height is lower than usual so needed less air there. The amount of air is irrelevant to the Postural Neurology concept.

@@irvinespine Excellent! I don't understand why gyms inflate them too much. There were already cases that were pricked. I have one but I left it at 83 cm in diameter, because it is very hard for me. But it is very good as a chair.

Different use. With postural neurology the use is to activate the brain for different needs related to posture. At gyms they put more air to support the weight for whatever exercise the person is doing.

@@irvinespine That is, soft for posture, use it as a chair and other activities without exerting force. Ball very inflated, for doing deadlift activities such as dumbbells, etc. I will deflate a little just in case for fear of getting pricked by so much air.

Too many unknowns! Hip or back of your pelvis ? When you sit or after you have sit on the exercise ball for a while? What kind of pain? What does it feel like? How long after sitting do you feel it?
