Ankle sprains can be rehabilitated with the right exercises on a balance board and beam. This type of training incorporates the three main principals for strengthening your ankles for running, as mentioned in this video. #anklesprain #ankleexercises #ankleinjury

Thank you for your feedback! So glad you like our content. Yes, the foot and ankle forms the foundation for all weight bearing movements. It is, thus, crucial that these parts of the body are functioning optimally.

@@barefootstrength Best of luck for your future challenges. A short thought on the Tadeevo shoes: in my opinion a really underrated brand. They probably don't look so cool as e.g. Vivobarefoot or Vibram Fivefingers but they wear enormously minimalistic!!! Cheers :)

Great video👍🏼…question…I have an Ankle that is really weak, I mean really weak. I sprain it once a month or more. Will this help me at all or am I beyond repair and should see a specialist? Thanks again 👍🏼🙏🏼

I have high arches and since spraining my ankle which has never fully healed, I ended up getting plantar fasciitis and was prescribed arch supports for the discomfort along with various stretching exercises, would the balance board exercises still help my dodgy ankle strengthen? i find a full day standing creates a lot of swelling, so wouldn’t want to agrevate the injury further

Would you say that a slackline (especially when done barefoot) is good for ankle stabilisation? And do you think it could provide good training in preparation for barefoot running?
@barefootstrength
@barefootstrength 3 жыл бұрын
Definitely! Slack line training will provide very similar benefits to balance beam training, as presented in our video.

So, what minimalist shoes would you recommend for sports like basketball and volleyball? Thanks.
@barefootstrength
@barefootstrength 3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I play neither of those sports, so I can't tell you with absolute certainty. However, Vivobarefoot currently has a wide selection of athletic barefoot shoes, which I've been able to successfully use in a variety of sports. You can watch our review of them here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iL-dkpx43bbKnI0.html

@@barefootstrength Thank you for your reply. However, in general, would you recommend barefoot shoes for such sports. Is it even okay to be jumping and landing on hard (unnatural) surfaces with no cushion at all? I'm having a hard time making up my mind, and I have been thinking about Altras for such purposes. But I keep going back and forth about whether the cushioning could result in ankle sprains or not. Also the abrupt changing of directions and speed. If you have any advice on anything that will be so appreciated.

Hi there, I've gone completely barefoot for a few months now and I've noticed that when standing while working and walking on hard floors, my ankles and feet feel achy and fatigued. This hasn't gone away and I'm confused as what to do... Any help is appreciated!
@alwachart
@alwachart 2 жыл бұрын
Ffs use some minimalist shoes. You've been using shoes for many years AND while growing (feet). You don't have the structural strength to go completely barefoot and you won't for years. Make adjustments, improve slowly, don't try to go from 0 to 100.

I spend my summers in the mountains and it's really ridiculous how I never trip or sprain my ankle in there. I run, jump and slide in the rocky hills. But in a plain road with tarmac I literally trip to my own feet :D

at 14:17 did he say *"I mean"* or something else? Because I don't understand why he would say that. I'm still learning English :)

He said “I mean, ‘cheers’”. I took it to mean “let me correct what I just said: I should have just said ‘cheers’”. Just before, he jammed together two partial phrases: “until next time” and “hit that Like button”. On its own, “until next time” is another way of saying “until we meet again”. More accurately for a video maker and his audience, it would mean “until you watch me in my next video”, but that’s a minor point. By following it up with the usual KZfaqr request to Like their video, it sounded like he was saying “until next time keep hitting that Like button” which would be silly. That’s probably why he corrected himself and wanted to replace his statement with the simple ‘cheers’ as a way of saying ‘goodbye’.

Ha ha, not yet. Would be interesting to then compare the prevalence of lower limb injuries in Welsh Sunday league teams, to other similar leagues who play on more manicured surfaces.

Look, I love your channel..and you get lots of points right.. ..up until the final point of the CONCLUSION then that's when it always takes the wrong turn 🤦🏽‍♂️ Yes, the rapid change of walking on pillow shoes is the problem. Yes, variable surfaces increases ankle strengthening. BUT WE WERE ACCUSTOMED TO BE BAREFOOT. THE FOOT HAS SO MANY MICRO MUSCLES THAT THIS VIDEO FAILED TO EVEN MENTION HOW TO *USE* THE FOOT. All of us...grew up wearing these cushioned shoes that DEACTIVATE the muscles in the foot. From birth to now..(insert your age)..but now shoes like fivefingers give you that barefoot experience with some protection. Sooo fast forward from however long you begin going back to our foot's ancestral anatomy, NOW your foot muscles begin slowly activating and that's where HOW TO USE YOUR FOOT begins. In my opinion, the feet are the most important thing on your body. They are the foundation for everything that keeps your upright. I wish I could explain how to use your foot through text (listen I have OCD and have OBSESSED over how to do it correctly..and now finally I have got it after a long battle over 3 years of trial and error experimenting on myself), but so far..I haven't found ONE PERSON NOR ONE ARTICLE explaining WHAT I KNOW soooo in the future, I'll publish a paper on how to do it. Meanwhile, I'm focused on my music right now. I won't forget about you, humanity. I'll be back for you to help you get it right because it seems nobody knows what the fuck I'm talking about cause everybody has asleep feet.
