I hope Thom sees this as I’m sure he would be impressed.

I feel like the climax of the song has to be a continuous melody instead of taking huge breaths other wise it takes the powerfulness of it away! Hard song to do justice but it's still worth giving credit.

I was thinking the same thing. i guess the problem of doing an Academic version of a song like this is that... it sounds measured, the agony and despair that Thom Yorke portray at the end of this song is all but measured. But yes, this deserves credit,

Possibly nitpicking? This is a chorus for Christ sakes. Have you ever sung in a chours?
@georgepatrick5302 жыл бұрын
@@2visiondigital I’m not claiming it’s an objective mistake on their part, and me not having been part of a choir isn’t the point; I was merely saying i think it’s a shame they decided to neglect an element of the song that makes the original so legendary

I agree, they should've kept at least part of them holding the note, the pause made it less interesting, but it's a good performance nonetheless, for sure

Yes, I have sung in a chorus, and those weird breaths were a very deliberate choice by the director. I'm in the camp that it was a mis-step in an otherwise very fine performance. Takes nothing away from the performers.@@2visiondigital

I’ve just listened to several choral performances of Exit Music For A Film and this is by far the most moving performance that I’ve heard. Great job to all involved. Like many others have confessed, this brought me to tears. So beautiful!

Beautiful amazing fucking performance. All of the choir sections sound amazing, but damn, those sopranos carried that intense ending like a bird soaring steadily through the skies!

Long live Radiohead.

OK, as I discover more classical interpretations of RH songs I think the band members will have a significant place in musical history. They leave behind a rich tapestry of compositions, some are open to new arrangements like this. Perhaps they are more complex and original than even devoted fans realize.

Ok so hear me out..can someone produce a modern opera with contemporary songs such as this a simple yet operatic rendition of romeo and Juliet,where romeo is an anarchist and an activist an juliet comes from a polarised conservative environment perhaps a cop father ect. I mean of course this piece was originally written for Romeo and Juliet anyway but can you just hear this to be an absolutely fantastic opera ending middle fingers flying high and all! Much like the old man dragging don Giovanni in hell this echoes hell is here now hell is you people

If you look for flaws in anything, you will find them. Perfection is the enemy of the great. It’s a trap that us humans should try to avoid.

The climax should be left alone with only women and high voices
