The first song I've heard by them. I was like 6 years old, in 2015, and seeing this hot song was something else 😂... The trauma of seeing someone like Kai at that age, wow. This is such an iconic song, and sadly the last song former member Tao participated in due to severe injuries and few time to recover. Thank you for this reminiscent song 😂❤

Because you enjoyed "Call Me Baby" so much, you definitely should also check out the EXO-M Mandarin Chinese version. If you watch the two versions side by side, you will see that the members that are featured in each part are different and even in the dance sections where you might think "it looks the same" there are different members doing different parts. The two versions of their MVs may look similar, but that's only because they filmed the MV twice and deliberately made the scenes look the same. Also, if you really pay attention, the scenes may look the same, but the members who sing the parts are different depending on the version that you watch. For example, in the Mandarin version you will see the EXO-M (Chinese) members featured more (Lay, Xiumin, Chen and Tao) and they sing the main parts, and in the Korean version the EXO-K members (D.O., Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Sehun, Suho and Kai) sing those same parts. In the Korean version a lot of the main parts were sung by D.O., but if you watch the mandarin version, you will see that Lay sings those parts, and in the Mandarin version the rap was done by Tao and Xiumin, where in the Korean version it's Chanyeol and Sehun, etc. Also, if you watch the Mandarin version you will be able to see a different sports car with Tao driving the car instead of Kai. Also notice how, just like in "Wolf" and "Growl," the camera is another character in the story, which is supposed to represent the girl they are singing to. And when Chen makes that transition by jumping through the doorway, notice how his outfit changes from all black to him now wearing red, which could possibly mean it goes from Chen the good EXO member who is telling us (the girl) to don't "call me baby" as a warning to watch out for the Red Force, and then in the next frame we see X-EXO, alter ego Chen appear in red. Yes, in "Call Me Baby" there are only 10 members because this song came out in 2015 and it was the first MV after 2 of EXO's Chinese members left -- Kris left right after their "Overdose" MV came out and Luhan left about 6 months later in 2014. This also was the last MV were we see Tao, the third Chinese member that left the group. Tao (The tall, blond with the orange shoes who is the youngest member of EXO-M) left the group shortly after "Call Me Baby." Fun fact: Leading up to the release of the "Call Me Baby" MV, there were 10 Pathcode teasers that were released over several weeks. There was a short teaser video for each of the members, and combined with clues from an SM Entertainment twitter account, we had to piece together the story and solve the mystery to reveal the release date and title of EXO's new song, which ended up being "Call Me Baby." If you notice, there are 10 letters in the title "Call Me Baby" so there was one letter per EXO member. If you want to watch their Pathcode teasers just search SM's KZfaq channel. They are all there. The stories in the teasers also connect to EXO's larger storyline as well, and it is thought that they not only show clues to "Call Me Baby," but they also reveal more clues to EXO's storyline and tell a little more of EXO's story. The Pathcode videos are super interesting and very mysterious, just like everything EXO does.

Time for me to rain on the parade slightly~ Tao's participation in this music video and all the stuff around this comeback was kinda the tipping point for him leaving EXO. Tao had many serious injuries throughout his time with EXO, but he had gotten a nasty leg/foot/ankle injury that got reinjured just before this. He had doctor orders to be on bed rest. EXO was sent internationally to film their teasers for this comeback (the famously beloved Pathcode teasers~~~), including Tao. And then the MV was a choreo mv (SM had people sit out of choreo mvs and comebacks before because of injuries; Tao could've skipped this comeback, or it could've been handled like how Kai's injury was during Lotto~). And then he was pushed into doing the comeback stage (afterwards, his injury flared up so bad he sat out the rest of the promotions). And then EXO's tour started and he wasn't dancing but he would come out on stage. He was also seen several times out on crutches buying his own medicine, with no manager or staff to help. Eventually, Tao's father wrote a public letter pleading for his son to leave EXO and return home. It was announced that Tao would be going home and later to the US for rest. But EXO-Ls just had a feeling~ EXO members were acting strangely subdued, and members we rarely saw cry, like Baekhyun, were breaking down sobbing on stage. After a while, it was announced that Tao would be releasing a solo album, not under SM, cause he was suing SM to leave. I don't think many of us were shocked... We kinda just accepted it, even if the way it was done kinda left a bad taste. Chances are when Tao left to go rest he had every intention of coming back to EXO, but once he was home and cared for he probably realized what was best for him...

i remember watching and listening to call me baby mv for the first time ever when i discovered them back in 2016, my jaw dropped and my mind was blown at the bridge. i was speechless and felt like floating. my goodness that is the best bridge in a kpop song i've heard after a longgg time (started listening to kpop as early as 2008)

That is why Exo recorded a song with him and they prepared a choreo for it) It is so entertaining, although Kai is not much in it cause he was still injured during that project..

Sadly this was Tao's last comeback before his father asked his removal from ghe group due to several injuries he faced. This was Exo's first comeback after Chinese members Kris and Luhan left the group and SM. Tao (the third Chinese member) would leave after Call Me Baby. Btw, the choreography was done by Napoleon and Tabitha (NappyTabs) - who were famous for working on So You Think You Can Dance for years (My theory is the opening looks like the opening number of dance shows where different dancers just pop up at times and do their moves for 5-6 sec, then the camera goes to another. As for the sound, Teddy Riley produced this - he is best known for creating the New Jack sound of the early 90s - in fact he worked on MJ's Dangerous album.
