Gravity is my personal fav because it has a very nice almost 80's vibe to it but also the bridge where you think the chorus is coming back but instead its a second rap verse gave me goosebumps! I think its just a very fun song overall but my second fav is probably between Tempo and Bad Dream so in that case we're similar lol

Each song, besides Tempo, refferes to each members "power", if you connect the music to the powers you will clearly see the connection

i kind of love this album it’s not my fave from exo but for me it really proved that you don’t have to be wildly new and innovative to just produce some good harmless pop songs. i also found it was an album that really shone vocally the most be it belting, ad-libbing it just using a range of vocal style. sometimes i found that i didn’t need the background music to change because the vocals kept it fresh and that’s just a true testament to exo’s vocal ability.

Personally, I like The War more than Don't Mess Up My Tempo. And personally, I think The War is where they go all out musically but in DMUMT, they focus more on their singing skills or vocals. Like in DMUMT, the highlight of the album is EXO's vocals. It's interesting how diverse EXO can be and I'm all for it. My favs from DMUMT would be Smile on My Face (this song just tugs at your heartstrings), Oasis, Damage, Gravity and Bad Dream. But Tempo is definitely at the top in terms of EXO's best title track.

I honestly don't think I dislike any of the songs on this album. But Damage, everytime I get to Suho's part around (2:22 on the actual song) I rewind that part multiple times. It's like an eargasm times 10!

I agree with Kevin about being catchy like 24/7 and being rhythmic chaos like Bad Dream. My opinion always like: If your song sounds really really catchy in the 1st listen, the shorter it will interest people. When your song is “weird”, those enthusiasts in you will be willing to listen carefully to it and they would explore more sides of your song after like 3-4 times. It kept continued their interest in the songs. That’s why I really like Red Velvet and NCT’s songs. They kept me interested and surprised every time.

I'm glad we have a lot of similar moments on With You, Bad Dreams, and Damage!! I'm not a classical musician that breaks down a song in a lot of technical terms nicely but I did notice things that you noticed here in terms of patterns, chord progression and change in atmosphere. This is why I like this channel. I can relate to things that you say but at the same time I also learn stuff I don't know. For me in this album there are two kinds of songs: one I like because it's catchy or simply 'my sound' and another I like because it's pretty experimental. Gravity, 24/7 and Ooh Lalala go to the first part. I honestly don't like With You so much but I noticed its uniqueness in the structure. I'm a sucker for Bad Dreams and its hitting 'ISANGHAN' chorus and long harmonies as well as Damage and its bridge, though. As for Smile On My Face, it's a beautiful song with beautiful singing, and I live for Chen's riffs too in this album. If there's a song that doesn't really interest me so much in this album it'd be Sign, tbh. Not exactly my sound also not super experimental musically, but I don't dislike it as well, glad some people do enjoy it. Thank you for this reaction!

For an ordinary human being (like me) when I interpret Don't mess up my tempo it's all about lyrics and its message, and like telling anyone who listens to it that you cant mess up with EXO because we are the best, and its a showcase of their talent and all. But then after watching this one, I felt a little dumb and shallow because they interpret it explaining the beat, melodies, g minor, alien terms in my ear which make me appreciate more how this album was put up together. It was like they sprinkle some chocolate chips in my garlic rice and I though it will taste very bad but wasnt just different and basically im liking it. So Im seeing DMUMT in a different light now, thanks to you guys. But then, I think no song shoud be left out in that albums, because they compliment each other and balance the whole experience of listening it.

As a lover of R&B songs and acoustic ballads than synthy songs, firstly I was a little disapointed with this album, because I missed those acoustics styles made on previous EXO's albums... But my EXO-L mind could see, little by little, that EXO gone far with this project!! They went experimental and risky than never and made a great album with mimimalistic chant instead doing the same powerhouse vocals (belting vocals/mixed high notes)!! EXO's evolution is remarkable!!
