Wow, finally a review from someone that actually uses the truck and has thousands of miles of off-road experience with the previous generations to talk about the limits. Well done boys!

Thanks man! We are going to try to do more of these.

Thank you! We are going to try to do more stuff like this next year. Glad you liked it. We have a bunch of awesome footage coming up for our full review after running it all the way down to Cabo.

Thanks for an awesome video and multiple opinions. You always go above and beyond on the videos. What did you do to stop or minimize to rear bucking on the gen 1? Deaver's, removing the spacer and bump stop? What's your recommendation?

Hi, Dillon from ICON, I've got your shocks on my 2010 Raptor SVT.

Awesome, honest, review of the Gen 3, from guys who know their Raptors! I would like to know if this truck came with the 35 package, was ordered with the 37 performance package, or, if it is a truck that was ordered with 35's, that you guys put 37's on? You mention that you blow through the front travel pretty quickly. I'm curious if it might be a little better with the 37 package. What are your thoughts?
@colesliva57512 жыл бұрын
this was ordered with 35s, and on the 37 package all ford does is make the shocks stronger to handle the 37s but with the 37s you lose suspension travel
@Expeditionxoffroad2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 37 package would likely help with that on 37's. It's shock shafts are 1/10th of an inch bigger. Not a lot but it does allow the live valve to exert a lot more force. For this video were on 35's so I'd have to assume it would be similar performance level with 37 package. So I think it would blow through the travel in the same way. When we added the spacer for the trip to cabo, it didn't feel that way. I think only a 1"-1.5" coil spacer is needed. It changes preload enough to slow things down.

I wonder if the rear coils were finally allowed by the bean-counters because of the way they needed to package the electric motor in the E F150? That truck is also using coils, but with an IRS.

It may have plaid a part for sure. I think the biggest driver was improving performance. The rear was the biggest area left for improvement over previous generations so think it made the most sense.

Would you still recommend buying a gen 2 ?
@seanmnew2 жыл бұрын
Been looking for a-pillar mounts for my gen3, what did you use?
@Expeditionxoffroad2 жыл бұрын
I bought some cheap $50 mounts for a Gen2 raptor to see if they would work. They did so I think most mounts for a Gen2 will work The ones I got below are not that beefy so if you plan on putting a larger light like a KC Flex Era 4, I'd consider another mount. They work well for the smaller Flex Era 3 lights. www.americantrucks.com/f150-luminix-hood-mount-light-brackets-2222.html

Did you already make the trip to Cabo? Any issues?
@Expeditionxoffroad2 жыл бұрын
No issues with the truck. It is amazingly capable stock. We did have a problem with a prototype part we were testing but nothing ford did.

I thought the same thing about the Gen2 vs the Gen1 when it first came out. It's a great looking truck and looks better in person imo. It will likely grow on you. Regardless, the Gen2 does look great so no argument there.
