So fun fact, Baekhyun actually is the faster learner when it comes to choreo, Baek, Sehun, Kai and Xiumin have the most precise, sharp movments, most facial expressions, but overall they are all great dancers. Kai merely goes the fatal and lethal extra mile to be extra when dancing.

As a former dancer myself, run throughs and practices with cameras are not all done at 100% energy because it is incredibly tiring to do so. Though I must admit I was also wondering why D.O. was on low battery saving mode during Hear Me Out dance practice. My guess is this is during the time he was very busy with his acting/solo work and he missed the first practice or had to be late to the practice and so he is still learning the choreo; that or he may be feeling unwell. But also, I think D.O. is truly one of the best at energy management. The guys always praise Baekhyun and Chanyeol for keeping the energy up and keeping the set fun and light, but that is incredibly tiring day in day out. If you notice Kai and Xiumin are also relatively quiet most of the time and just focused on dancing. When you watch enough live performances and full concerts you will see how much endurance D.O. Has. His vocals and dance moves are always on point and at the end of each song he is the least out of breath among all the members. D.O is a dancer through and through. He's the type that learns the choreo but adds his own flavor. It was surprising that a dancer picked D.O out as a main dancer as normally alot o people who get into EXO only know him as a vocal artist 😂

I think around the time of hear me out dance practice d.o had hurt is foot or leg, that's why he was mostly just learning without actually doing it, probably why he was sitting while recording cream soda as well. Tho it does look very cute and funny from the side

The EXO members did not choreography their "Hear Me Out" and Cream Soda" dances on their own -- although they often give suggestions and make tweeks -- they build off from choreography that was created by a choreographer. If you pay attention, in the video you can actually see their choreographer doing the dance right alongside them as he explains the moves and adjusts things. (Yes, the guy in the striped blue shirt who was filming their "Cream Soda" performance is Kasper and he is the choreographer.) What you see is the EXO members working on remembering the moves and perfecting it. It's a behind the scenes look at them learning the choreography. D.O. doesn't get out of learning the choreography, but because he is a main vocalist there are a lot more of his parts where he isn't necessarily dancing as intensely or even at all. As a main vocalist he has parts where he just stands off to the side or in the center and doesn't move because he needs to be stable in order to pull off the notes he has to sing, etc. Therefore, he doesn't necessarily need to be involved with the dance the whole time. D.O. is a very skilled dancer, as well as all the EXO members, so learning choreography is like second nature to them at this point. They literally have to memorize dozens of pieces of choreography as part of their career. In concert they are performing around 30 songs on average and they have to know the choreography for it all. Learning choreography isn't that difficult for them after 11 years of doing it. What you saw was clips of their dance practice footage from all different days. Usually when they are practicing for an event or a shoot, etc. they spend several days in the dance studio. For example, when they are learning a new set of choreography Kpop idols spend on average 10 hours a day for a week practicing, so you often see more than one day's practice in a behind or uncut dance practice video. Why you see different members practicing at different times was because they had solo activities and other events they had to attend, so some of the members may have had to come and go at different times, which is why you saw some of the members explaining the dance to the other members. They were catching them up on a new part they had learned or filling them in on changes they had made to the choreography. When a Kpop group isn't preparing for or promoting for a comeback as a group -- which only lasts for a couple of weeks every few months -- all the members have solo activities that they do as side projects. Therefore, the longer a group has been in the industry, the more difficult it becomes to be able to find time that they all can practice together because they all have their own activities and lives they have to work around. The only reason why it doesn't look hard is because they are such good dancers that they make it look easy. I mean after initially learning the choreography during that first week, they then spend time the rest of the month practicing and perfecting it so that it becomes like second nature. And that's all before they reveal it in the MV, on music shows and in concert, etc. I've heard Kai say that when they learn new choreography they often spend more than an hour doing one move over and over again just to make sure that they are exactly the same and that their hands are all at the same level every time. They practice it so it becomes muscle memory and they no longer have to think about the dance, that way in live performances they can instead focus on their vocals. It's not a quick or simple process. What you are seeing in this behind the scenes video is just a small fraction of the time they spend perfecting everything, which is why they are able to do it flawlessly live.

One of EXO-Ls' great frustrations is that Hear Me Out clearly has an actual full or partially full choreo, but we've never gotten to see it. It was probably because they learned it with Kai and would have to rework it without him. Maybe we'll see it when EXO is finally a full group again?~ EXO did briefly hint in a video called "Get set," that Cream Soda's choreo had to be altered slightly because it was originally formed with Kai. They specifically mention the ending pose was planned for Kai~ So, they probably had a video the choreographer put together with stand-ins for each member, giving them a general idea of what it looked like, but then had to rework it. The choreographer/dance teacher in the Hear Me Out portion I think is Mihawk(It's kinda hard for me to see with how I'm watching, and I'm too lazy to go look it up right now~ So, feel free to correct me, anyone^.^) and the one for the Cream Soda parts is Kasper. These are two of EXO's dance teachers/choreographers, and they're both really close friends with the members; they've been with EXO for a while(Luhan even used them even after he left EXO)~ Even if they don't choreograph the dance, they were the ones to teach the members and guide them through learning it. The more you watch EXO, you might be able to start recognizing them, especially Kasper as he's often one of the back-up dancers if EXO uses back-up dancers^.^

At the very end, they were practicing for the relay dance for Cream soda which you guys can also check out, as well as some of the comeback stage performances that week. We were robbed of a Hear Me Out dance practice and performance because they only got a week of promotions and Kai had just left 😢 I don’t think they had time to relearn formations with 7 members. We will always be a bit salty with how rushed yet short their promotions were, but it was also a really amazing week and they performed at 110% like always 🥰

i love the behind story behind things so if you wanna know what happened i am going to ell you they were work in dance routine for the come back and they film here me out and suddenly sm did a mistake with kai's military papers so they announced that kai will enlist next week it was such a bad moment for exo and us and all plans have to change even kai show tears because he know that in the same day they announced to us so here me out dance practice couldn't apper to the light and we don't see kai at cream soda too losing the main dancer was a hard time for all of them so they have to give more energy to repay his absence

May not be the last one -EXO Creme Soda Office promotion -when EXO are office workers. Similar to an SNL sketch - but incredibly funny. The pot shots to SM are threaded within. the other ones are the music shows - to see them dance creme soda in tuxedos is the ultimate dream. This was all done at the same time as Kai's surprise 1week military notice and EXO CBX legal issues with SM. You will never find a more stoic, humble, funny and talented group than EXO. They are not pure but they are the guys who have endured a lot and yet still deliver something new again and again. Heart went out to Kai -who had with Sehun held the fort whilst EXO members went into the Military. Kai was looking forward to performing Creme Soda with his members (not since 2019) before enlisting. Never complained or avoided like other grp was doing.
