This is pre-debut... This was to give a taste of the talent to come. EXO is Elite in Music, Top Tier, It's not just in Kpop. No group is giving this vocal prowess with professional dancing and visuals, none. How they sustain I don't know... all 9 members. I haven't been this moved since New Edition and Boyz II Men.

This song was produced by teddy riley. it’s still one of my top 10 favorite EXO songs. They just wanted to tell the whole industry that they’re the vocal kings of their generation and one of the best vocalists in kpop history plus great performers with these pre-debut songs Love these versatile men ,Thx for the reaction 😊

The EXO-M (Mandarin) MV of “What Is Love” features Chen & Luhan on vocals & is equally fire (I actually prefer it by a smidge). The video is similar but includes some other clips from their pre-debut teasers. Both should be watched to get a better understanding of their concept. (Same for “History” (their other pre-debut song) & their debut “Mama”)

4:12, 5:45 (Kris Wu) 5:52, 6:46 (Zi Tao who give the kick) 2:50, 3:37 (Luhan) They are the former Chinese members because EXO actually debuted as 12 members 9:15 and they were separated to 2 unites EXO-K sing in Korean and EXO-M sing in Chinese. Now they are 9, only Lay is the Chinese member left. And lastly i recommend their debut song MAMA it's so good👌🏻

And the fact that is was just pre-debut stuff just prove that they deserve their vocal kings title. They just improved to become better each day and they still keep on improving. This is pre debut they have 2 pre debut songs 1 what is love sung by 2 members only baekhyun and D. O in korean and Mandarin by Chen and Luhan 2 history sung by 6 members in EXO K sub unit with 6 korean members and in EXO M sub unit with 4 Chinese and 2 korean Members

exo used to be 12 members before 3 chinese members left : luhan; kris wu and tao; u should check the chinese version of what is love by luhan and chen (luhan used to be one of the main vocals of exo along with chen; baek and d.o he has many solo songs in chinese u should check them)

There’re three members you wouldn’t know in this pre debut release (I know, it’s a pre debut song 😳), since they left the group between 2014 and 2015. EXO debuted as a 12 member group. There was a Chinese subunit called EXO M (4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members), and a Korean subunit called EXO K (all 6 Korean members). EXO M promoted in China and EXO K stayed in Korea, and there used to be a Korean and a Chinese (Mandarin) version of every song. D.O. and Baekhyun were EXO K’s main vocalists, but the Chinese version of this song you just watched is sung by Chen and Luhan, main vocalists of EXO M. Not long after their amazing hit Growl was released, the Chinese members started leaving the group one by one, until Lay was the only one remaining. In 2015, all members reunited in Korea, and continued their promotions as a single group called just EXO, with 9 members. I believe that maybe present day EXO OT9 is the group you’re most familiar with.

Musa my man, this is one of Exo's predebut songs from Dec. 2011, along with the song "History"....their official debut was "Mama" in 2012. Exo started with 12 members, 6 sang and made mvs in Korean...the other 6 in Mandarin Chinese...Chen and Xiumin are Korean but was part of the Chinese unit, and the rest (4) were Chinese. After Exo debuted and rocked the world, they were touring everywhere...and the demand for Exo was escalating, making them work ridiculous schedules and hardcore practice...the work load took a toll on three Chinese members who you didn't recognize, Luhan, Kris and Tao. They were worked to the bone and couldn't handle the pressure, to the point of injuries and no time to recover..that's when you could say that SM really sucked...not caring for their artists and treated them unfairly because, I'll say it... because they are Chinese...and on the world front, China and Korea are enemies...So the 3 went back to China in 2014-2015, and everyone worried Lay would follow too...but no....so they eventually did away with K and M and put the 9 remaining members together, and just called them Exo...in 2017 when Lay went to China to do a solo album, with every intention to come right back, the political strife between the 2 countries escalated, and Lay has been stuck there ever since. Then covid struck...so Lay concentrated on his solo music and has become one of the most talented artists of all time in China, and worldwide Exols supported him...so if the situation ever gets better, maybe Lay can come back.. But I don't know. 💙🌺
