So does finding an scx 6 for 600 and no need to find rare parts or worry about diff lock assembly being in a crappy place. Opinions are assholes I know.. 😂 glad yall like this truck. I see to many negatives

Ok, buy it, and get back to me in 1 year... having learned your lesson about chinese brands! Just buy a TRX-4... it will last you a lifetime! (I have 40 trucks in my collection, some over 15yo that I still use today). This truck is cheap and garbage! I've spent $750 on a Traction Hobby, 2 years ago, which looks way better than this and appears to be the same chassis, but underneath the body is a cheap toy.... and I can't find spares for it! That's my main concern... I don't care if it breaks every week/month, if I can find parts to fix it... I've been abusing and thrasing Traxxas models for years, and they hardly break... on a TRX4, in 5 years, I only broke 2 portal gears and a transmission bearing... if I had this, I would disintegrate it in a month.

@user-yu6ne6qb1c I have 2 Trx-4, 1 Trx-4 Sport, 1 Trx-6, an SCX6 build that was $3000 finished, 250+ models, been doing this since I was 8, still have some original Tamiya models, even Tyco models that run that are 30 years or older, and watched every video on this thing Joe has done and it continued to impress. For 500 bucks it's worth trying. I buy everything from toy grade to hobby grade and never seen a 7 servo 1/7th scale crawler with an outstanding light kit even developed, let alone for the $499 I paid. I'm not an rc snob and p.s. Traxxas is made in Taiwan. Not exactly a Vanquish. I also didn't include the 2 Trx4m I have but are you suggesting I only buy Traxxas? Most of Tamiya's stuff is made in the Phillipines with only a few left coming from Japan, and most of everything from Horizon Hobby is Taiwan or China. Redcat is usually China, and Team Associated, the original rc car manufacturer and rc race developers, are now owned by Thunder Tiger. And right now a Hypergo H16bm will beat the snot out of an Armma Grom.

My experience, rx's usually operate at 6 volts. Esc's can limit/boost the output from rx to servos, lites, etc. Plane rxs especially spektrum, limit their output voltage to 4.3v. This can be changed in tx (my tx16s I can change it in the tx), otherwise it's gotta be 'jailbroken', reset when updating, registering via computer cable.

Short answer, yes. Different brands and even models in the same brand will have different voltage ranges and current limits. Most Rx need 4 volts minimum and can't take much over 8. On the flying side, big planes with lots of servos (like 3/aileron) start hitting current limits of Rx. The more common issue is the BEC can't supply enough current, voltage drops and Rx browns out of turns off. Bypassing Rx and ESC/BEC with direct powered high current servos like steering and winch can avoid that problem. And you can keep lower voltage servos and lights at stock 6v.
