we know all of them can save your life, and most of us will never be hanging on the thing. what you missed to cover is which ones are comfortable to wear while working long hours.

I would suggest reviewing the instruction manual of each harness to understand how it fits and where its adjustments are. Also make sure you pay attention to properly fitting your harness. The ExoFit Nex harness that you first tried on was not properly adjusted to your body, which is why it felt like it was hitting your ribs. Next time make sure to adjust all elements so the back pad is around your waist and not your stomach. The Construction Style harness is not popular for roofers. Try the vest style ExoFit Nex!

Awesome review.... As an industrial blaster and painter, I work on bridges, hydro towers, and hydro dams. I work on a lot of different high structural steel projects, up to 400 feet in the air. Most companies I work for will only supply exo-fit harness. Thanks for the video.

yes it does! attention in detail! Bucket cost $2 and makes huge difference in $100-300 products. We all love buckets for some reason!

Those rings on the waist aren’t meant for safety. They’re meant so you can position yourself if you have to hang on a rebar. Always tie off on the back d ring

I'm a 3rd year carpenter and a 2nd year scaffolder I wore a dbi sala exofit for 2 years straight everyday. In my opinion it's the best harness for any kind of building trade. You carry alot of weight during the day and believe it or not having that extra lumbar support makes a difference. It's also super convenient hanging your tools off of it. The only backside of it is that it gets kind of toasty in the summer.

I have two of those bucket harness packages from different companies, both come with roof anchors. Not a roofer just a regular guy getting up to paint, clean the gutters or do some roof repairs. I much prefer the rock climbing harness with belay loops for both front and back, gear loop plus ability to rappell with it. With the attachment on front I could climb back up, couldn't do that if the rope was attached to the D ring on the back.

nice video it would be complete review if you had included function of the suspension trauma straps that if a fall occurs the person should be rescued within five minutes or he will be subjected to Suspension trauma (also known as “harness‐induced pathology” or “orthostatic shock while suspended”) keep going all the best

The exofit has two leg straps so if you fall you can stand in mid air and not cut circulation off. Fyi

Your not even wearing the eco fit properly it the belt goes around your waist and those lil circle pockets has foot straps

Hey great video. Love the exofit it is the one we in the entertainment rigging world call a Cadillac. You should try it with the waist belt just at the top of your pelvis.that is where your belt should be it is the strongest bone in your body. If it worn to high or to loosely in a fall ,many bad things could happen. I also recommend that if you work where you need fall arrest invest in a class on it. Most potential employers look at the person with the training first .

I purchased the $85 guardian on Amazon and on tead of sending me the pass through chest straps they send me the Quick connect chest straps I personally prefer Pass through chest straps.

Thanks for the video. It would be nice if you showed how feasible and comfort level for seating on the "seat strap" (attached to the backside of the leg loops). Seating on the seat strap, while suspended, will help alleviate blood restrictions to your legs to avoid or minimize SUSPENSION TRAUMA (other similar names exist).

Thanks for the tips.. ! I'm considering getting a medium priced harness for working on ladders and occasionally on roofs. I read that Cross-Over Harnesses are better suited for up and down the ladder all the time kind of work, does anyone have any opinions on this.. ?

I bought one on Amazon and it has one lifeline that connects to your back and from there it goes to the shock absorber abd the it a splits into two ropes each one ending at a big clip. This is too heavy. Why are there two ropes and clips?

Fall arrest harnesses are not climbing harnesses. They will save your life if used properly, but you need to get help right away because you should not remain suspended for very long. The better the harness the longer you can remain in one without problems, but even some of the most expensive ones recommend being rescued within a few minutes. The rope often has a device or section that will absorb some of the shock experienced during a fall, which, if you fell far enough, could cause fractures or other trauma. The harness should be quite snug fitting, but should not impede the motion you need to do your work. I like your idea of testing them.

Accidents happen, so harness are alway a great back up.. don’t use them, but as I age, and become a bit wiser, I a, starting to think I will be needing it soon, if I want to stick around..

I’m sorry but you are wearing that nex completely wrong. It is adjusted from the legs going up fighting things up. All of the harnesses that have osha rating are fine for protection. The real question you should be reviewing is weight and convenance and comfort if you are going to sit in it hanging for an hour. Catching a fall is easy. Comfort while hanging in it for hours is the hard part.

The exofit is designed for high rise construction (bridges, dams,skyscrapers,etc) it’s designed to put your tools pouches on the belt, and leave them. That’s why it doesn’t come with a bucket. Lol. You also clearly did not set it up properly if it slipped up THAT much when you hung from it.

Exo fit must be #1. This is coming from someone who worn one every day. Right now I use miller because of price and that I like changing my harness before every winter. I’ll say pass on the rest. By the way you where wearing them wrong.

Try out the Miller ones. They are around 130$ Canadian dollar, very good and safe. I think it should have been in the video as it is more accessible for the masses

I have worked union most of my working life, and used the company supplied harnesses. I have never seen a set of instructions, and never gotten harness training. It is my belief that all contractors should pay for fall protection training and require anyone who works for them to get certified on how to use a harness properly. Then have you buy your own harness that they will reimburse you for on a yearly basis. That way you are always using YOUR harness that is always properly adjusted to your body and work needs, and that no one else can use, change, or abuse without your permission.
