I’m honored and grateful to pay a visit to Ray Yap home garden to witness his magnificent collection of Exotic Aroid and beautiful Platycerium. In this “Meet the Growers” episode, it’s an episode to showcase how Malaysian Growers manage to grow their plant and make it available to the horticulture market which we plant lover can be able to enjoy and buy it. I am trying to showcase all the behind the scene of Grower episode to let plant enthusiasts understand the effort and the process behind if it. Enjoy !!

Unfortunately there is a HUGE misunderstanding regarding Platycerium Celso... The breeder's name was Celso. A guy called CARLOS TATSUTA (brazilian born with ancestors in Japan) brought the Platycerium Celso to Japan. And the big mess begun... This Platycerium has nothing to do with Mr Tatsuta. He was merely the person who took this plant to Japan when visiting some relatives. Mr Tatsuta was not a breeder himself. He was friends with CELSO and that's all. So, the correct name for this Platycerium is PLATYCERIUM CELSO. Mr Celso was friend's with Mr Pedro (legendary Pedro Russo, also brazilian) and both hybridized two Plants in the same timeframe... one is the world famous Platycerium Celso and the other is Platycerium Pedro. Cheers.
