I would imagine that most of the feeding crickets are low jumping/docile due to genetics since those would be the easiest to catch and then breed them with low jumping/docile mates leading to the offspring

my brother caught one once and fed it, after a day he released it on this big hill and it did laps around us and i would pet it, tarantulas are kinda cute and if you get the right one it's pretty friendly.
