My kids passed 10th grade from dubai school but now after pendemic m unable to get their admision here so i m planing for private education in uae bit my kids are crying that private degree is not valuable and i wont b able to work i. Hi. Thank you for this video. I literally just found a position that I’m thinking about applying to that is like a Teacher Training Program through the MOE. Is that what you went through? It’s difficult to find information on what the actual experience is like. If the contract doesn’t provide housing, is it very expensive and difficult to find housing once you get there? Will the salary for a public teacher be enough? I worked internationally before in Asia, but housing was always provided.

Hi. I applied through TeachAway to work for ADEC (at the time) - this was in 2014. As far as I am aware, MOE has taken over meaning the contracts are different. I have been told that housing is not provided in the new contracts only housing allowances. There are many options in terms of accommodations (apartments, hotel apartments, shared accommodation, villas etc). The salary for a public teacher is more than what you would be getting in your home country due to it being tax-free. If you are going on a teacher training program, I am not sure if you will be getting the same amount as an experienced teacher. All the best :)

Thanks, I was wondering about this. So what do you know about the behavior of the students in public vs private/international schools. Does k-2nd grade get a teacher assistant.

In my experience, a private/international school has behavioural problems that are experienced globally whereas a public school has more of a language barrier. The behaviour in some public schools can be quite challenging depending on location, gender and grade. Teaching assistants are not common in the lower grades in every school. This is something you would ask the school/recruiter when applying to a particular school.

You can try BSAK, Repton, Aldar Academies, Cranleigh, ADNOC, GEMS or British International School to mention a few. Check out their websites to get more information and to apply for any vacancies. All the best!

You get paid more working in public schools than in international schools. This is dependent on qualifications and experience. Recruitment agencies will have more knowledge of current pay scales.
