WOW 🤩 You’re Ford Transit 350 Extended Cargo Van set up is the FIRST I’ve EVER seen on YT my friend 👏🏼👍🏼 I have seen the 250 and the Mercedes Benz Sprinter Cargo Van extended cargo van but yours is the first 350 and I didn’t know it runs on diesel and that swipe Front and Rear video mirror is GLORIOUS 🤩 .. I know a resource that has HUNDREDS of Ford, Dodge Ram Promaster city and Mercedes’ Benz Sprinter Cargo Vans and I’m looking at some right now bc I got a business associate/ friend that’s going to get a business term loan to get a van for me. I can’t wait to get back out on the road again BUT doing OTR this time instead of local courier work

@@timmothymotley2746 go to Merchants Commercial Sales … they had discountsof $4k and $5k off the MSRP on the 2021 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500 HIGH ROOF vans during the holidays but I think they stopped promoting it

I've been expediting in a van for 37 years. (with the same large carrier) I'm required to display their company name and authority number since I'm under DOT regulations didn't see any signs on your van. I also can take Hazmat loads, so if I have to placard, I could face heavy fines not having the authority signs not displayed.

@@mercedesbenzs600bash Depends. What are your details? Do you want to transport goods intrastate or interstate? What size vehicle do want to operate? If you go online to the DOT site, it answers all your questions. Don't seek these answers on a KZfaq channel. Get them from the DOT who regulates this industry. One tip Insurance costs veray depending on the state you live in. Florida is one of the highest rates because of the higher claims numbers.

Great purchase you made. I would upgrade it to handle frozen food, medications, because you could charge top dollar, always have work and even stay local if you wanted.

Glad I could help! I have another recent video with more tips and some loads. I am signed with a few dispatch companies and also dispatch myself with my own authority/DOT. The longest and high roof van will be best and your options for loads are much more. Good luck!

@@DaniilVataman I’m just a driver but am looking at getting my own van this month. Do you mind me asking how you like your ford? I am looking at getting a Mercedes’ sprinter 170 extended. So much space. Got 30” extra even with 3 pallets. But I see your van looks big. What’s the wheel base? I see 148 online is that it?

@@ExpeditingAmerica I've driven the Sprinter doing local deliveries for FedEx Ground and let me caution you about cost of repair being very expensive due to Mercedes dealer pricing and rare to find an independent mechanic that can work on them. My contractor cringed every time it needed repairs. The Sprinters all had over 200,000 miles so they will last but you'll pay lots to keep 'em going! Also factor in how often you will be in rural areas where Mercedes dealers are not near and the inconvenience to tow that beast a long way would drain your bank account!

Good video. If you use thermal blackout curtains to wall off your bed area from the cargo area it will work great, be less weight and not as much work. Good luck!

That’s interesting that you are leased on with multiple companies. I guess I just assumed that when you leased on it would be exclusive. Can you say a little more about that and how it works? Really appreciate your video by the way- nice job!

@@paul1der oh nice! Yeah mines also deleted 😆 I would recommend checking for expediting companies on Indeed, search for your location and type “sprinter van” Fox Carriers is one I found on there and allows non exclusive so you can be leased and work with multiple companies, good luck!

Nice Van! I want to be an owner operator of an otr van. I do know pretty much how to get started by applying for authority, llc, agent, insurance...etc. But whats holding me back is meeting my overhead and profit. Seems like the market is not giving me confidence enough. its a huge investment and I don't want to get stuck. that said, I have the capability of staying on the road for weeks, but I dont want to get under paid.

Thanks! I paid cash for this van in the video. Financed my second one though. I have a 3.5 ecoboost gasoline now 😄 more reliable now than the diesel I had before

@@DaniilVataman Good to know about the gasoline engine. I've been wondering if there may be Government grants to get started. I have expedited for an owner operator in a box truck with a full size tractor cab (6 wheeler). Ran team with my X. Have been interested in Sprinters for years. I've been trying to research load boards but there are so many out there you have no idea which ones are best and most of them charge monthly fees. I would rather run on my own rather than have to sign on with an expedited company. I am 67 and don't want to run full time.

Thanks! For sprinter/cargo van transporting you just need DOT for in state (NJ only in your case) but if you plan on doing outside of your state/all of US, you’ll need MC. And insurance is 1Mil liability and 100k cargo. I have more recent vid on expediting if you’d like to check on my channel!

Never knew the extended transit could hold 4 pallets... I thought only the MB extended could 😢

Only if the pallets are standard 48x40 inches. The van is 168 inches length, 4 pallets = 160 inches. But if the pallets are 48x48 it won’t work as it’ll be 192 inches length, hope that helps 😄

My van has D rings attached to the body of the van in the cargo space. I use those, works great!

Here’s a tip if you need multiple mounting points running the length of the van: In my pickup truck bed there are mounting points at the front and back only, so I run chain from front to back mounting points and now I can connect straps to anywhere on the chain.

I thought you had to have atleast an no older than 3 year sprinter van to do OTR or carrier work? Cause id rather get a 2015 with good miles and start vs gettin a 2019 and starting.

I’ve never had any issues with my van being 2015. I’ve seen some with vans from early 2000’s getting loaded no issues. Good luck and check my more recent vid for tips and tricks!
